The mods are very reasonable and will give you a second chance here if you just let it go. And regardless of anyone’s feelings of Lip, the dude has pretty tough skin. And I generally agree with your view of the Chicago media and being too soft on the Sox, but I actually think we’re seeing some subtle progress there. On Getz’s 45 minute presser / Q&A session, there were definitely a couple heaters asked. I actually think DVS at the SunTimes may have been one of the more aggressive ones (unfamiliar with his voice, but think it was him) which was a refreshing change of pace for the beat writers. Regardless, we need more from them and I can promise you if the media won’t step up and it do its job then it’s up to us fans at SoxFest to hold the org accountable. I barely care when this team loses anymore and I have zero confidence in the current group. I personally wish there were interviewers who just say the truth of what fans think even if they couch it by saying the fanbase thinks you are terrible, are making awful trades, and should be fired. How would you defend the Cease trade. How do you defend the Maldonado signing. Why didn't you ask for Carlson back from the Cardinals. How do you plan on improving the talent base for this club in the short term to put a watchable product on the field not just signing washed up stop gap vets who are just looking for an opportunity. None of the CWS media has the balls to ask these questions. NY media does that is only because they don't care about access as much. But hey I get it until the NFL season begins, everyone is just going through the motions. After that, they will not have to discuss the CWS any more. Could they be fun in 2026? It’s possible depending on prospect performances. They could start spending in 2027. Getz would be crazy to lay out a timeline. I think the interview let Getz sound like what he is, a putz without a plan. When interviewers start getting hostile, it serves as an excuse for the interviewee to shut down or turn the blame on the interviewer. Mike North never seemed to get that.
