Wong & Owens
Did people already bring him up as a possibility? He's signed just through this season, at $12 million, but half of it is deferred. Arizona "will not sign him after this year", so he's available as trade bait. Why isn't this a good idea? He'll essentially cost $6 million this season, I'm not sure how deferred salaries work, i.e., could he be paid the rest over 10 years? Chisoxfn
According to Gammons Schilling will approve a deal with the Yanks if they extend his contract another 3 years (You'd have to be an idiot to give him big bucks for 3 more years when he's already falling apart now). On a sidenote, JR and Schilling are bitter bitter enemies. Sometime ago Schilling mentioned he'd never play on a team JR owned or something like that. I never heard that about Schilling and JR. It doesn't seem like their paths would have ever crossed, unless this goes back to the strike in 1994. I'm guessing that must have something to do with it. And yep, you'd have to be a full to give Johnson and Soriano for him...at least if they got Maggs they'd get a guy that they could sign long term and would be productive long term. YASNY
Schilling is the type of guy that has a brain and is not afraid to speak his mind. Which is precisely the type of player JR hates to have on his team. See Carlton Fisk for another example.
Pastime
No way would Schilling ever pitch for the Sox. Not because he hates Chicago, but as stated in other posts, he hates Reinsdorf. Join the club, pal.

Pastime
Yasny, I knew that when I was 14 years old, and nothing has changed. Once again, I was 14. A stupid, horny, confused dork with acne. Yet, I still knew that the Sox owner was a tool. Nothing changes except the time we've realized it.
