The dumbest team in baseball wasn't Pedro's fault, go figure.

He sure as hell didn’t help things, and also never benching players for continuous mistakes didn’t help.  But yeah, these guys all suck for the most part.  Not a lot of major league talent on this roster.

And Getz wasted $25 million on these bums.  He should’ve donated that money to charity rather than burn it in a fire pit on the worst team in history.

Obviously concerned AA/AAA players were just going to get overwhelmed.

Not Getz's fault on the development side though.

Definitely not the fault of the former director of player development from 2017 to 2020 and assistant GM after that.  ?

Perfect example of what makes bad players bad and good players good. Not only is it the physical tools that are less but also the mental part of the game.

Now things might've turned out slightly different if the ump had called an obvious strike a strike and called Altuve out  but things spiraled after that.

ALtuve gets a 2nd life ,gets a 2 RBI hits while the Stros broadcasters say it didnt look like Robert went  after the ball that hard to try to prevent the runner on 2nd from scoring.

Then Alvarez down 0-2 and Altuve thinks  oh the next pitch might be in the dirt I'll take off if it is. He does and Robinson seems shocked. He blocked the pitch but it wasn't like he sprung out of his crouch . He casually went after it .Next pitch Flexen isn't holding Altuve at 2nd so he steals third.

This is a guy who has never taken his talent for granted. He thinks, he hustles.  So now the infield comes in with him on 3rd and Alvarez dumps an RBI single that likely would've been caught if the infield was back.

8 of last 10 have reached…he sucks

7 hits, 1 walk, 1 strikeout in 4 innings.  Getz was the only GM in baseball that thought signing Flexen for $1.75 million with $1 million in incentives was a good idea.

Chump change for MLB money but Flexen only deserved a minor league deal / non-roster invite.

How about the next inning, Benintendi doesn’t even think of throwing home when one of the slowest players in baseball is tagging up?

So the problem is systemic, arguably.

Players don't learn to trust each other because you're constantly churning players in from other organizations and the talent level has been so low they're already acclimated to losing at the minor league level.

Have to get him off the field...but that means playing 3-4 more DHs on the field somewhere else.

There is no reason not to bring in Elias Diaz instead of having Robinson play. If anything, Diaz plays well here and maybe you want to bring him back.
