winninguglyin83
gammons piece from espn.com basically goes over stax from 2003 season and trends from last three years sez Bartolo's numbers were outstanding and that he's going to get major bucks from the Yankees http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1659935 Also sez Frank's numbers have gone up two straight years. So have Carl Everett's. Not so for Robbie and Buehrle. In fact, Buehrle's hits per innings pitched are troublesome.
The Critic
If the Spankees can get Schilling and keep Pettitte, then Bart's gonna have to look elsewhere, I think. Red Sox? Braves? back here? ( I know, he's NOT coming back )

The Critic
Angels and Orioles are two other places he could go. I always see the Orioles listed as a place for free agents every year, but they don't seem to sign many of them. Maybe they get used as bargaining chips? winninguglyin83
Orioles finally have money to spend because they are free of contracts with Sweet Albert Belle, Brook Fordyce, Scott Erickson and Tony Batista. They got some bucks. dunno if Angelos will spend any. they're supposedly talking to Bad Vlad.
DBAHO
I still think Bartolo will be wearin an Angels uniform in 2004. They want starters badly, and if the Yanks resign Pettite and Wells, I still think they mite go afta Millwood as well. I think Colon would rather play in Anaheim than in New York as well. aboz56
Peter Gammons knows about as much as Mark Buehrle as I know about baking a cake, not a damn thing.
winninguglyin83
that's correct. and the hits per innings pitched are not trending in the right direction
elrockinMT
There is an artiucle out there either on MLB or ESPN which says that Colon is projected to resign with the White Sox. I hope that happens.
YASNY
I whould say that article is pretty "out there" .....Or pretty out of date.
Pastime
I have a better chance of flying than the Sox do of re-signing "El Blimpo."
Rex Hudler
Peter Gammons knows about as much as Mark Buehrle as I know about baking a cake, not a damn thing. He's right though...... Mark's H/IP ratio and ERA have gotten worse each of the last three years. That is fair cause for concern.
Texsox
Did they also compute season splits? I'm guessing here but I'd bet his 2nd half looked good.
Rex Hudler
Did they also compute season splits? I'm guessing here but I'd bet his 2nd half looked good. Well let's take a look............ Actually, his ratio was still worse than in previous years. He gave up 128 hits in 116.2 innings in July, August and September. His ERA was 3.70 during that time, which is only marginally better than his overall 4.14, and was still higher than his ERA's of the past two years (3.29 and 3.58). Chisoxfn
I've noticed Buehrle getting worse and worse. It all started when he lost one of his better pitches, the sinker. I heard he was using a bit more last season but I never saw it in effect. Coop mentioned a few times that it was really improving though, but maybe he was referring to bullpen sessions and Buehrle doesn't yet have the confidence to use it. This offseason/spring Buehrle will have to improve his changeup, continue to improve his control, even though its good, and I'd really love seeing that sinker back in his arsenal. Yes it is.. A lot of hits given up. And Mark is a guy who gets out by Groundballs and Flyballs not so much K's.
