So much for that whole “best situation a #1 QB has ever been in”.

They lose next week and it’s going to get UGLY around Halas

363 yards and 2 TDs for a rookie QB in his third game with zero running game, questionable play calling (OMG that 4th and goal call), and a porous offensive line. Downfield still an issue at times, but better today. First INT was awful. Second was a questionable throw but he hit Rome. Colts secondary isn't bad and made a play there - still think Rome had a chance on that one. Strip sack not his fault. Kmet shouldn't be blocking their first round defensive end on a slow developing play action.

I'm trying to be encouraged by Williams' play overall and the somewhat competent offense shown at the end of the game. Hopefully that continues, but Eberflus is not a good head coach.

The Fields meatballs already in full effect on Twitter cause he's 3-0. Pittsburgh is a well run organization. Always have been.

Meanwhile Fields has only has one 300+ yard game in his career and Caleb did it in week 3 of his rookie year.

I like to think that both "the Bears needed to move on from Fields and pick a QB with a higher ceiling than him", and "Fields was held back a bit by this joke of a franchise" are true.

Couldn’t agree more here.

360+ yards in game 3…ill take it. Mistakes sure…but third straight week of progress. Can’t say the same for Waldron or Swift but at least they stopped giving all these reps to Homer and Everett like idiots.

Caleb had a lot of real good throws today…and clearly some he wants to get back too.

I’m really excited - I believe that was the most passing yards by a Bears QB in 16 years…by a rookie in his 3rd game.

Week 1 - awful

Week 2 - better but still not good (solid 1H though)

Week 3 - Big time improvements - again more to improve on. This was also I believe the most passing yards by any QB this year.  There were a lot of good tight window throws and anticipation throws today. Some head scratchers too but this kid is learning…I’m excited (too bad they didn’t get Saquon).

I expect turnovers by him as a rookie - but I want to see wow plays. We started seeing more today but also just a ton of anticipation throws. Even that first down throw on 3rd down of the very first drive…easy throw to Kmet but with such smooth anticipation.

I still don't quite understand the NFL cap, but through three games I feel like giving Saquon the money he wanted would have been preferable to Swift.

Not to mention they're using Swift completely wrong. If Swift doesn't get to the open field, he's useless. He can't fight through contact or make guys miss with no space to work with. It doesn't help that he and Caleb have a ton of issues linking up on screens (which is probably the best part of his game). It was encouraging that he actually got a few first downs in that 4th quarter. I think Roschon needs more snaps, especially in early down situations. His running style fits the line much more. He can actually fight through contact and fight for yards. Swift running for 1-2 yards on first down is an absolute drive/momentum killer.

Swift looks like he takes the ball through the first hole he sees, and then dives at the contact coming his way.  It is so aggravating, like there is no plan to continue running at the second level
