Who burns out clock to settle for a 46 yard field goal?  Since when is a 46 yard field goal a gimme?

Nagy and Trestman.

This has been a time honored tradition for bad Bears coaches. They all p**** out and decide it's not worth risking a fumble when the field goal at 40+ yards is by no means a gimme.

I'm not sure if this is Packers players trolling or actual insight, but this is now the 2nd time the opposition has been surprised by the Bears' mismanagement at the end of the game. The last one was Washington being surprised they got 13 yards for free to set up the hail mary.

Please come up with nicknames more clever than Eberass and Eberloser. They don’t even flow. Maybe like Eberfool? Or Eberlose? You guys are better than this.

I mean, just keep the F in his name and Eberfloser is a gift-wrapped nicknamed.

It's not anything new.  He doesn't have a strong leg.  His kicks tend to be at a lower angle because of this.  No one actually has to study film during the week to show it.  It is known.  He is super accurate under 40, but 50 yards is pretty much his max.  Anything over 40 and it's pretty much a line drive kick.

That said, our coach should know this too.  That's why you make sure that at the end of the game you get him as close to 40 yards or less.  What a complete clown.

Exactly correct

Eberflus is a dead coach walking.

This is probably right, but does Poles getting another coach like Mike Vrabel, Kliff Kingsbury or Ben Johnson actually do anything? Or is it truly the ownership change that is needed since they Bears everything up?

I still believe Kevin Warren's time in the BIG 10 is as much to do with Harbaugh as the McCAskey's idiocy running a football team.

I believe this more than George being the stopper.  The McCaskey family loved Harbaugh when he was a Bear

Another season where the Bears are playing for draft position. When does the madness end? Everyone on the coaching staff and even front office deserves to be fired at this point as the Bears still seem years away from being a legit playoff team. Houston and the Commanders are proof that you can turn around a franchise very quickly in the modern NFL. Enough is enough with the Bears and all these excuses.

IMO, the most frustrating part of this is I don’t believe that’s true, it’s a rare case where the coaching really has made a major, major impact on things. I think this is a talented roster, albeit with some holes, but with a good coaching staff, this team has at least 7 wins right now

I’m with this.  At the very least competent coaching has them at .500

Football is as much about coaching as it is players.  The Bears have failed miserably in evaluating Eberflus and their stupid defense first mantra. Idiots, the whole lot of them.

Take the opportunity and draft the best offensive linemen available with your first two picks at least.

I’d still take a talented roster over talented coaching staff, the best coach in the world can only do so much with a shitty roster, but if anything, you need both for a successful team.

Can’t remember a situation like this one in my sports fandom, where it’s just so evident the decisions being made on the sidelines are impacting the results this much. They have failed at historical levels when you consider how many games they have blown with 95% odds to win a game in the 4th quarter.

Agreed on that. This is why people who say Poles should be fired because "he hasn't done anything other than one lucky trade" are way off base. He fixed their huge cap issues, he ingested some talent into the team including a franchise QB. He does have some flaws which he needs to shore up, but the most frustrating thing is Flus is holding the team back.

Agreed, but not everyone has failed. Flus has. Warren has failed when it comes to the stadium stuff.

This is the way. This team needs 3 new, impactful OL. I do not want to see Tevin Jenkins on this team. I don't want to see Ryan Bates, who somehow is less available than Tevin being a component to this line. I don't want to see Coleman Shelton. If you need to move Darnell Wright inside, then do it. Being cute didn't work, so address it properly.

I would as well, but you're right. In the end, Eberflus is not head coaching material. Too many mistakes by the actual coach that he blames on execution. Time management has been awful (yesterday aside). Using timeouts, Hiring coaches, holding them accountable, holding players accountable, holding himself accountable, etc.

He's just not a guy who can run the whole shop.

Dead Man walking press conferences on Mondays are fun

Don’t listen to it if you don’t want to get angry.

Reporters drilled him pretty well.

”Did you know that Cairo Santos is a perfect 70 of 70 within 40 yards?”

”Yes, but we were comfortable with the positioning on the field goal.”

He painted himself into a corner immediately.  Said he would make the same call again, then later said “well yea I would have liked to get a little closer”

dude what do you have to lose anymore?  Let it rip.  Riverboat Ron got like 2 extra seasons because he did that lol
