He was out of bounds though. It's weird. They have a sideline camera, but can't use it for replay because it's not in every stadium. Why not just get the call right? Or just take it out.

Eh, looked like it but it was pretty grainy.  It’s pretty bonkers that the cameras aren’t uniform and you can’t use that angle though.  The point is though, that process for throwing the flag is really messed up

Flus challenged that play yesterday NOT because he thought he saw Addison was out of bounds, but rather because it was an “explosive play”

it’s a wonder why the guy has won 2 challenges in 3 seasons

As just a fan, the challenge seemed like the right call at the time.

I’m pretty sure it showed that he was clearly in.

Keenan’s wasn’t much different. On both of them I thought the player was out - but neither were definitive (in my opinion). The rule was pretty stupid too. If you have a camera angle available - use it.

I felt the complete opposite, I didn’t feel like it was a challenge worth taking there at all.  My immediate reaction was that he just blew another timeout, and he did.  I don’t trust him to win challenges or call the correct ones, because he simply does not

Oh absolutely.

They released a statement along with this saying that they're committed to building a stadium in the city, but yeah this feels like a big step towards making that project work.

I don't see it happening, and I don't want it to happen, but it absolutely should.

They could build Bear land where the Chicago walk of shame is filled with sportsbooks, pubs and eateries that the Bears control. That was the origination of the plan to build in AH. The city said no to them building a sportsbook. So build your stadium, generate more revenue than you can count and give the state a world class facility to host multiple different events.

And if you want a few extra bucks to build it, welcome to Sox over there and the State will give you some cash to do it as well. It's that simple.

Kevin Warren has been a disappointment to me. He, seemingly, has put his wishes in front of the Bears and the groundwork they had laid out. He wants to see the stadium from his home and he doesn't want to move. That's a ridiculous statement to be honest.

There is a big push for Thomas Brown now. I'm very leery because I know Bears will make wrong decision, so if he IS a good coach it will be elsewhere.

But I just look at Antonio Pierce. There was such a media push and good feeling push for them to hire him, esp after Bisaccia. And now it's 8 months in, he brought in a terrible staff, he offers nothing. I just cannot remember the interim ever working out, only times it SHOULD have (Arians, but nobody was firing their HC for having cancer).

The difference here is really that he's bringing an improved offense, but unless he has plans on a staff overhaul, no thanks.

It is also comical to make this push based on a 2 game sample size, especially one where it isn't even like the offense set the world on fire.  It is just jarring seeing competence after whatever the hell Waldron was doing.

Media is already talking themselves into Brown as HC, and I don’t want anything like that.  Raze this staff and hire a HC the right way.  Don’t saddle him with anyone from the previous regime

That was a pretty good showing against the Vikings, even the drives that stalled had some pretty terrible drops. That defense has chewed teams up so dealing with it with a banged up Oline and rookie QB I think was definitely a feather in his cap.

Also starting to agree that last year he may have felt more limited in the Reich offense (more Reid-ish tree) than this year. Also he just seems like a coach vs. Flus who seems to want timid guys.

Burn it all to the ground.  Everyone from Poles down goes, and find some adults.

Poles im keeping because I don’t believe he had a lot of input in hiring flus and he should at least get to pick one coach

Even with the small sample size, why would you want to change anything, especially now. I saw some people talking about Flus being fired after the Lions game and Thomas Brown taking over. Why put more responsibility on him now, when things seem to be working? Keep him in the OC role. At the end of the year, I would hope they do an exhaustive search for a new HC. If they do, they will find someone more qualified than Thomas Brown. If they want to keep him as OC, great. But the expectations should be raised from Thomas Brown.

Lets not have them Bears this up. They screwed up by not firing Eberflus when they drafted Caleb. Let's not waste his rookie year like they've done with every other QB in the last... oh I don't know... 80+ years. Unless it is Kingsbury learning yet another offensive system and setting the kid back would be typical for this franchise. That's why I hope Brown and Caleb continue to thrive the last 6 games here and you can truly see.

People forget Brown was a hot commodity for HC before he got the Panthers job as OC. Then the Bryce Young thing gave his shine a step back. So far he's proving with a better, more talented QB that he can absolutely hack it as a playcaller. Caleb and a couple of the offensive guys have already credited him in the meetings with motivating the guys. He might be a diamond in the rough. It would be typical Bears though to have a coach walk and he goes elsewhere and thrives though.

I’ll wait until end of season. If offense is crushing it than he can interview and if he is the best, great. It is 2 weeks in and so far each week we have seen improvement, if we see continued progress and growth than go ahead and interview and or let next head coach evaluate him for oc.

For record, Vrabel is on my short list with Johnson. I am a pretty big Vrabel fan - like tone he would bring and think he knows what it takes to be a pretty good head coach.

Of course they should have given Harbaugh a blank check last offseason.  But I can’t go back in time - despite me being adamant it at the time (as many of us were).

Coaching shouldn't matter this much, but if Harbaugh is the coach of the 2024 Bears, I truly think they have 7 wins right now.

No doubt. I also suspect they would have moved down, drafted an olinemen and than would have drafted Mcconkey or something. But no doubt in my mind they win a few of those close games and just have a total different trajectory.

The dude flat out loves football, and is quirky, but he builds winning cultures and stresses detail and knows how to get his players to buy-in on his way.

I also would state that in football coaching matters more than any other sport.

Stay the dumbest fucking Head Coach in the NFL, Flus.  Losing challenges like it’s going out of style

It was horrid. Killed momentum too. Lions are an awesome football team so I expect to lose but Flus is so bad.
