Looking at the bright side, Williams is for real, just need a better coaching staff to help him reach his roof, though Brown is doing a decent job as OC overall, much better than that waste that was Waldron

Please get Ben Johnson

Holy hell, if he doesn't get fired after that, he never will be.

Caleb looked good in the 2nd half, but there are still way too many missed layups. He had Moore for a possible TD on a shallow crosser on that last set of downs and threw it in the ground well short. I know he was gonna get hit hard after he let it go, but you have to make that throw.

The Bears are the White Sox of the NFL.  No football IQ, at all.

Chicago sports overall is a huge pile of incompetence, pro franchises being ran by guys who aren't qualified to be there. Nepotism in full effect.  At least Sox fans don't turn out when the team is awful, Bears fans just take it up the ass every sunday

Pain.

These are the types of losses you want when the season is down the drain anyhow. I'd actually be mad about this game had they won the games against Washington and Green Bay, but the team is going nowhere this year. Caleb has proven that he's pretty good when the game comes down to the final drive. That's where this year is much different than 2022, where Fields lost a lot of games late. It's not Caleb's fault the head coach keeps fucking things up. Get him fired and get better draft position for next year.

agreed with this philosophy

look at the Sox for example, we don't get any of this table flipping change if they don't lose 303 games the last 3 years

Poles could have hired Harbaugh and avoided the hot seat.

Instead, he now has to nail the first three picks. If he doesn't shore up both lines in FA and the draft, he's doomed.

Yeah Poles is lucky he's not gone along with Eberflus since he was the one who decided to keep him. Way to throw a season away.

He missed a few where he rushed himself but he also had some dimes. It is nice to see a lot of highs with him past few weeks but still room for growth.

With more experience and a more consistent oline I think we will see more growth. Very excited about what we have seen past few weeks (despite the shoddy coaching and in this case also on Caleb but that is what coaches are for too).

Reality is they should have called an instant time out after he got clobbered in that draw play. Reset and know you have 25 seconds to get a play in and get down and spike.

And yes he missed Moore on that one play on final drive but than he threw a nice ball to Keenan that was overturned and had a few other ones on that drive he overcame. Oh and Moore had that brutal 3rd down drop in 4th quarter earlier in game.

Flus is gone but I don’t see what firing him accomplished. Players know he is gone but moving Brown to that role and than making him have to deal with that and the offense doesn’t sound that good to me. Maybe you can turn it to Hoke.

With that said - Flus may have to be fired now cause while they know he is a dead man walking this and Washington loss were the absolute 2 worse of ones of the season. How they didn’t call a timeout is just so so bad.

But he has all the chips to fill in those holes and really start to see this thing take a huge step forward. Will he make the right choices…who knows.

I don't know what they were thinking running QB draw on 2nd and long. The blocking on the play was atrocious up the middle and it honestly seemed like the line didn't know it was a draw play outside of the center. It was like when Illinois ran a QB power at the 40 and got tackled in bounds last week against Rutgers. It took a miracle for them to recover from that, but they should have lost that game because of a call like that.

The missed throw to Moore on 3rd down wasn't an awful throw, but it's the kind of throw where if he made it correctly, Moore's running for a long time after. That's the type of throw Caleb should be making. Moore shouldn't have dropped it, but Caleb needs to do better.

I’m convinced that second to last play was a communication issue cause it didn’t look like wideouts were thinking it was a draw play and I don’t know what the hell the line did. It was almost as bad as the clock management.

I just read Eberflus quotes - holy hell he is defending that train wreck and saying they did it right. What a moron. He did it against Washington and got away with it - Bears have a long week, Flus has to go tonight (or tomorrow at latest). No idea who they turn it to - maybe Hoke, but this was the last straw.

I can’t help but think of one Pedro Grifol with this press conference performance.

It’s about accountability, showing you care. I understand sports are different than most other businesses, but in ANY industry, when someone continues, week after week, to put up performances that are not only bad, but cost your organization and puts your brand in a negative light (nationally as well as locally), you don’t keep that person employed for your company. He’s also the most visible member of the organization and the person that speaks for the team. If he’s not capable and not up to the task, I don’t agree, in any business, just keeping the person in place for any longer than they need to be.

By keeping Flus, the Bears continue show us they don’t care about getting better or holding people accountable.

His explanations were so stupid. Just call the time out with 12 seconds and decide your game plan. Run a sideline play to see if you can get in field goal range…if you can’t or prefer an alternative take 2 shots to end zone.

Or you know…call a timeout with 30 seconds left once your qb got destroyed on some of the worse blocking i ever saw and than reset everyone knowing you have the sideline or whole field in that play but need a quick spike if it’s in middle of field.

Bit at very least you need to know once clock hits x without the play going off you are calling a timeout. But he is actually explaining like it was good.

I did actually think Odinze got held or interfered with on the play but you can’t bail them out for that level of stupid.
