Harry Chappas
My issue with Bears Oline is we are not certain what was coaching and what was talent/talent evaluation. If Jones and Wright are the guys with a professionally run offense that alone could improve the line. I cannot reconcile the performance of the offense beyond the inept coaching room putting it together. If Jones is a guy and Wright is a guy that makes things easier to fix if you thinking coaching torpedoed things as well.
Milkman delivers
Is anyone else not excited about this SB at all? I don’t think I’ve ever cared less or been looking less forward to one. I’ll probably end up having it on in the background, but I’m usually either out or glued to the tv for the game. I’ve talked to a couple other people that say they’re not watching it at all. There have been other years where I didn’t care about the matchups, a lot of them recently. I think with this year having so many teams to really root for, with it to just end up being KC-Philly, has made it extra demoralizing. PaleAleSox
The absolute only way I'm okay with drafting him is if you pick up two of the premiere OL guys in free agency, and then another one with one of the second round picks (with the other pick being DL). Even then makes me nervous. Expand Here is the way I look at it. The Lions took Jahmyr Gibbs 12th overall in 2023. He's been fantastic, the combo of him and Monty has been great for Detroit. But if the Lions kept D'Andre Swift lets say, but still added Monty, running behind the same OL in Detroit the last two years, how big of a drop off do the Lions have? It costing them multiple games? I'm not really sure of that. Now do the same exercise with someone like Penei Sewell, who was drafted 7th overall by the Lions in 2021. Replace him as your RT with a mid level FA (as Swift was for the Bears at RB.) How big of a drop off do the Lions have? I would say much more significant than the first example I gave. DO NOT SPEND SIGNIFICANT DRAFT CAPITAL ON THE RB POSITION

DO NOT SPEND SIGNIFICANT DRAFT CAPITAL ON THE RB POSITION Expand This is a very good post - it’s why I’m not taking an rb in round 1. I think in round 2 - that is earliest you can do it and round 3 is fair game. Now if Bears moved down 10-12 slots and picked up a few more picks - than maybe because you don’t have a Sewell type player on the board (unfortunately he probably isn’t in this draft anyway). Simmons is my go big or go home candidate at 10 - otherwise I’m in camp of go dline if you think blue chip is there or move down and try and grab a high end guard prospect and live with Braxton with goal of making interior strong.
