He gives me the Lovie vibe. Carroll is a slam dunk if not for his age. I have always appreciated McCarthy and I am not exactly certain why. What really sucks is Fangio getting is only HC shot coming off the Bears. I think every Bears fan in Chicago can admit that McCarthy exudes Chicago guy
chw42
There has definitely been a shift in tone from the fanbase when it comes to McCarthy. Last week, when news came out that the Bears wanted to interview him, I would say the general tone was extremely negative. Now it feels like the fanbase is bargaining that McCarthy might not be so bad. I don't think McCarthy is the worst you can do, but holy hell, we can definitely do better.

It isn’t bargaining, it’s resignation/acceptance. admittedly he does raise the floor a LOT. I just think this is the time to swing for the fences and the Bears are hoping for a single with three throwing errors to get them home

I just think this is the time to swing for the fences and the Bears are hoping for a single with three throwing errors to get them home Especially because Ben Johnson has been the name fans have wanted for probably a year, nothing changed this season (if anything fans want him more) and he's sitting out there, waiting for a suitor to sign him up, AND has reportedly shown interest in the Bears job. All the Bears have to do is bring it home...and anyone that has followed the team knows how unlikely that is for the Bears to pull off...because it's the Bears.
caulfield12
Pedro Grifol is still available as a team-building associate...or would he have to forfeit some of his 2025 guaranteed salary from JR?

He’s clearly not just a product of his talent, but also hasn’t appeared to have lifted a talent decrepit team to the playoffs. Anyway Johnson or bust.

And right now, the cards have aligned in our favor for that to happen if the Deon rumors are true. Can Poles & Warren not f*** this up remains the question… Your choices are working for Tom Brady or the Bears. I know who I am choosing. I do like the salad bar at that one restaurant I forget the name. Italian garden or whatever the name is. And I love Ozzeroo of course. McCarthy is a veteran coach, proven, Aikman upset the Cowboys fired him. Might figure ways to beat Green Bay, etc. You've gone soft.

Mark Davis and part-time owner Tom Brady in a stadium where you'll never be the most popular team. Bears meanwhile are interviewing the packers OC for some reason Raiders may be the only NFL org more dysfunctional than us. I obviously could be wrong, but I can’t imagine Brady as minority owner changes the calculus enough to offset the lack of a QB, lack of pick high enough to draft a good QB prospect, lack of weapons outside of Bowers, and a poor defense. Despite our holes in the trenches, we are much closer to being a competitive team than the Raiders are and that’s a huge plus for a first time HC in the NFL IMO. They also have no QB and might have to trade draft capital to draft one (good chance Ward and Sanders don't make it to 6).

Do you really think either of the top 2 teams is trading down? I’d assume the Raiders are after a Darnold, Fields, something like that. That should be fun 😂
