Creates depth and upgrades oline while bringing in some vets to also stabilize and help locker room / system. Last year we traded these types of picks for backups - which was stupid - this year you get two interior linemen who will start and you know you have them where as free agency is an unknown. Now they should have a lot of flexibility to go dline or oline early in draft but not have to start a 2nd round guard (for example) asap. Let him grow into role or take your LT and a guard with your 2nd or 3rd. Tney have cap space so now curious if they so go Dalman too. But this is the start - need to also have some more young talent in oline pipeline too. Expand They had 8 captains last year and none of them were on the O-Line. It's the most important "unit" in football and it needed a massive upgrade. They have taken steps to do that, and free agency and the draft aren't here yet. Let's see what it looks like in July, but I think they've done some good work thus far.

And will be interesting to see that contract, at his age the length can't get crazy, and you're paying for his past production not what you project, so could get a little dicey...but I agree that the odds heavily favor him not just being here for 2025. If he is, it wasn't the best use of a 4th round pick any way you slice it

SoxAce
You put a 2 time all pro at LG and leave him there. Thuney even at his age is still a stud. I imagine Jackson now kicks to RG where he does have some experience there. I hope the Bears trade down to around mid 1st and gain some more draft capital. Get a lineman (D or O) and gain more draft assets to fill holes. RB class is very deep. You can easily get a great back in the 2nd or even 3rd round.

I’m glad they gave up low rounders in separate drafts for each player. They are expensive players but the Bears have money to spend. They are also effectively on one year deals so they can use the two players they acquired as bridge players. At least they finally are addressing the line so Williams doesn’t get killed back there. Quin
But in all seriousness, from Brad Biggs: Quote The Bears still could be a major player for Atlanta Falcons center Drew Dalman. They would quickly have a lot of money and cap space tied up in the offensive line if they sign Dalman to a deal that could make him close to the highest-paid center in the league. Maybe that sounds daunting when you consider what Thuney and Jackson are earning, but there are no easy fixes to what has ailed the Bears. The Bears have the cap space and flexibility to pursue both Dalman and a marquee player for the defensive line, maybe tackle Milton Williams or end Josh Sweat of the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts end Dayo Odeyingbo or perhaps a veteran such as former Bears edge rusher Khalil Mack. caulfield12
C Drew Dalman to the Bears Dalman wins his assignments with movement and leverage to offset a smaller frame (6-3, 300 pounds). He's a technician on tape, best suited for the zone run game, and his pass block win rate of 95.1% ranked ninth among centers with at least 500 snaps in 2024. (He missed time due to an ankle injury, though.) Chicago traded for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, and Dalman could fit right between them on the line. espn.com

Chisoxfn
I could see a scenario where Bears drop back a few picks in 1st round and use one of their 2nd rounders and a future 2nd to move back into the 1st round. Basically take a LT and Dline prospect in 1st round this year.
Chisoxfn
Or Bears trade down with the Bengals and pick up Hendrickson (maybe also trade down in the 2nd round). But basically go from 10 to 17 - pick up Hendrickson and give him a big money deal on your line. Than draft Simmons (presuming you like his medicals) at 17.
