He's days away from turning 26 and he's not performing while repeating AAA. He's been terrible in majors in 300 PAs. He's a non-prospect.

This is probably true but the choice was to give Sheets 500 PA or Colas and they went with Sheets and let him put up another negative WAR season. So they tried to shoehorn a DH that can't hit league average who is older than Colas and can't play RF, into RF rather than just play the actual RF in a throwaway season. Puzzling.

He's as much of a prospect as DeLoach and Fletcher. The only difference is Getz didn't acquire him.

And before everyone starts banging the drum on Fletcher's defense, yes, he has looked amazing lately. He also looked like a newborn deer earlier in the season.

Maybe they'll actually get a hitting instructor in Charlotte of all places and they can possibly have a RF with some power.

Fletcher's August slash line of .275 / .306 / .624 is at least mildly encouraging but he better be one of the best defenders in baseball if that's what were going to be getting from our RFer offensively. And as its already been pointed out, seems like he has been putting up some very unsustainable defense metrics over the course of a season.

When we trade Robert, if they slide Fletcher over to the everyday CF role and he can OPS .650 while playing great defense its at least usable.

If we're going of DRS (which was being used in the other thread), his current small sample size extrapolated to a full year would make him worth two peak Andrelton Simmons.

So you're saying we did in fact make a good trade???

Incompetent people making incompetent decisions about other incompetent people. And what do we get? Incompetency. Amazing.

At this point I’m just wondering if the Sheets statue is going on the outfield concourse or outside the stadium.

If he’s not ready to get at bats in a historic losing season, he will never be ready.  Remember that Getz called up anyone and everyone early in the season, which was supposedly against his own plan.  The scrubs he signed in the offseason were supposed to be placeholders until the prospects were ready, but Getz quickly started calling up guys.  Therefore, I doubt Colas is long for the White Sox regardless of what Barfield says.

More likely he will be out of the MLB in two years. Most players that Sox give up on don't put it together elsewhere.

He’ll be lucky to be in one of the other professional leagues in 2 years like KBO, Japan, DR, etc.  More likely he’ll be playing Independent League 3 years from now.  Could probably get in a few years for the Slammers.

Colas supposed lack of development is a pox on Getz previous role. As we know, this current stance shouldn’t surprise anyone. The White Sox always wait for their prospects to be totally ready before calling them up.

See Baldwin this year...3+ hot AA months and boom, you're a starting middle infielder in the majors despite a "marginal" prospect profile coming into the year.

The fact that Chris refuses to play guys he traded for and developed in favor of meaningless veterans is such an indictment on his last two job titles.
