Lip Man 1
Which staff? The current ones or the ones who got fired? And the part about continuing to work is a joke. Did he watch the baseball stupidity and ineptness this afternoon for example? Guys looking like the last thing they wanted to do was be out there on the field? Please... 1

Lip Man 1
DVS story on this for the Sun Times, includes JR quotes from last year. This final two lines in his story are priceless: https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/09/11/jerry-reinsdorf-this-year-has-been-very-painful-for-all
WhiteSox2023
I like how JR made sure to release this statement before they officially set the record. Preemptive strike. So cowardly. Edited September 11 by WhiteSox2023

He's come a long way from this statement hasn't he: “Eddie and I never discussed how to talk to reporters. We’ve just been ourselves. I always though Jack Kennedy was the kind of person I looked up to in that regard. He always gave the media a fair shake and understood you guys have a job to do. Without responsible people willing to divulge some accurate information, it’s hard to do it right. It was a much better approach then Nixon, who figured the media, was his enemy. Doing it Kennedy’s way just makes a lot more sense to me. After all, nobody can buy the kind of advertising Chicago teams get. What other line of work finds newspapers assigning people to follow you around and write about how the business is doing every day? At Balcor, we have to hire a public relations firm to get our names in the paper. When baseball teams get that for free, it makes sense to cooperate.” – Jerry Reinsdorf to Bob Logan. From the book ‘Miracle On 35th Street.’ Pg. 154. Published 1983.

Looking forward to chopping another 300-400,000 off in attendance. Seriously they're going to have to start embracing the historical ineptitude and promoting it as a feature and NOT a bug.

Now we've adopted another recent president's maxim that any and all publicity is somehow good/positive...also trying hard to imagine JR as JK burying all the mistress mob and Vegas stories. Nobody will cover for Reinsdorf any longer.

Remember lousy attendance means JR doesn't have to pay the state and in some cases they have to pay him! I'm sure it bothers him from the standpoint of lost parking, concession revenue but outside of that given his lease, I suspect it doesn't bother him that much.
