CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago

The prices for the network are ridiculous.  Talk about being out of touch with your fanbase.  I was literally a phone call away from cancelling DirecTV and going to YouTube TV after trialing it.  But I didn't because I want to hate watch the Sox next season, and there's no way I'd pay $20 a month.

It sounds like many people are having luck with an antenna, but you'd need to be pretty close to the source.  My daughter has an HD antenna and lives in Plainfield.  I'm going to see if I can pick up the signal there.

Bwahahaha, you’re right.  I literally copied and pasted those two Iowa channels straight from their website two hours ago when I responded to your post and now both Iowa channels are instead listed as “Coming Soon”.

https://chsn.com/info/

How in the hell do you f*** that up?  This is truly a shitshow.  🤣

They are listed on the website...I think they reorganized the layout/links...but the Cedar Rapids/Des Moines stations are still listed:

I just wish the central Iowa station they have listed actually carried CHSN

I dialed in the Cedar Rapids station that is listed and it comes in crystal clear at my place.  That said...it was a couple of weeks ago and they weren't transitioned over to CHSN yet.  I will have to give it a shot tonight to see what is up with it.

Living out of state, I'd pay for it right now if the Bulls and Hawks were any good. I might decide to pay when the Sox season starts. Over a full season it's about the same price as MLB.TV, only I don't get pre-and post- with mlb.tv but I can watch any other team outside of the Tigers. I always think I'm going to watch other teams and I never end up doing so. We'll see what happens.

I live in Iowa so I get what feels like half of the league blacked-out!  Still though...MLB.TV is my savior half of the calendar year! I don't watch every game nor focus on every pitch of very many games but it is always nice to have baseball on in the house whether it occupies my main focus or serves as background noise.  That said...I never thought I would pay for MLB.TV OVER a White Sox "channel"...but next year I might just be doing that!

I do enjoy Chuck and Ozzie, and Frank and Pods when they are on. Gordie is getting better.

I might pay to just watch them 😆

Agreed, these knuckleheads clowning each other are entertaining to watch even when the Sox suck.

I don’t have a link but you can order on-line. Best Buy would be your best bet. Hope this help.

Model ANT1268EV

Thanks!  Just found a new one on eBay for $15 shipped.  Been having issues getting a solid antenna connection from the TV in my living room.  The signals on some channels cut out periodically so the sound cuts out as well.  Very annoying.  Hopefully this does a better job than the cheap small flat plastic square antenna I am currently using.

Make sure you get the free phone app which will guide you to position the antenna in a straight line to the nearest tower. Fully extend the two antenna on the back of the device for the ultimate reception,

The directions for the phone app is in the manual which come with the unit.

And people thought all of this s%*# would be better than cable.

It’s nice for people that actually live in Chicagoland because it’s free (or price of an antenna).  But that’s about it.

But if you are tech savvy enough, you can watch every game for free anyways.  Or pay for MLB.TV (free with T-Mobile) and get around blackouts with VPN.

I have a technical background so it isn’t an issue for me, but I do understand it’s way more annoying for many Sox fans now, when NBC Sports Chicago was simply included in cable packages and easily accessible.

None of its an actual issue.  Installing a antenna isn’t hard, getting a VPN to go around blackouts isn’t hard, dropping my cable and getting a far inferior cable package without internet isn’t hard.

i just have zero desire to do it, because they have zero desire to compete.  Such is life

What are the chances CHSN offers a radio feed audio option with the streaming app? MLB.tv spoiled me and I'm 100% not paying extra for Schriff to insult my intelligence on a nightly basis.

Based on the CHSN website, they apparently don’t even know which cities they are broadcasting to so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Correct, because the Des Moines station is listed again and it still doesn't carry CHSN.

I'm about 45 mins south of the stadium and grabbed an OTA antenna with a 65 mile range and the picture comes in great, think it cost me like $60. Probably went a bit overboard big figured i could just return it if it didn't work or the quality sucked.

I'm out where you are and the picture quality I get with an attic mounted antenna is indistinguishable from cable TV. It was fun mounting mine and aiming it toward the Hancock with my iphone app. This was a blast from the past having grown up during a time where almost everyone had outdoor ot attic mounted antennas for analog signals with flat 300 ohm cable, boosters, splitters etc.

I have a three way splitter serving three TV locations throughout the house including one that is 50 feet from the antenna. This is the way TV should be. No subscription fee.

In the end, I think my setup will still be cheaper than what I was paying for Xfinity cable bundle because I still had Prime, Netflix, HBO and Disney anyway.
