  • Balta1701 changed the title to Buster Olney and Jesse Rogers’s turn ripping the Sox

"The front office promoted first-year coach Grady Sizemore to interim manager, essentially taking on-the-field decisions out of the dugout and into the executive suite. Sizemore had expressed no desire to manage but was picked because players like him. "

I hate so many of these players.  Just terrible character judgment by Hahn, KW and Getz.

do you remember when they signed Eaton and bucket sang its praises as a move the sox felt would help hold the younger players accountable lol

I wonder if it is just that Sizemore didn’t want to manage this record breaking team or if he doesn’t want to manage at all and be a special advisor / developmental guy in a team’s front office?

That's a good question. Maybe he's self aware enough not to want the job, or want to manage yet until he has more coaching experience? And he's just being a good soldier as interim?

I just found the quote alarming, and it more or less confirms Grady is just there to follow orders from above.

Quote

At the 2023 trade deadline, other teams -- aware of the dysfunction in the White Sox's clubhouse -- passed on opportunities to take on some of the veterans because of the ugliness of some of the emanating stories. One executive said of one of the pitchers the White Sox were trying to trade: "We've seen that act before."

Trying to think who this would be.

Also, I wonder how much political leanings led to some of the friction

Advocating for the right for the LGBTQ community shouldn't be a political issue. It's just about not being a total fucking asshole. I suspect it had something to do with it though.

I don’t want them to trade Crochet or Robert because Getz is going to get fleeced but knowing how much of a dumpster fire this franchise is makes me hope they trade both of them before the Sox destroy their careers.  I’m glad Kopech got out.  This story is almost exactly the reason I see negative value in bringing up a guy like Quero for this season.  I’d prefer to even keep guys like Baldwin, Sosa far away.  Also confirms almost all suspicions on why Vargas always looks like a sad puppy and why Giolito appeared physically ill at all times.

Two thoughts:

1) Other than Jerry, it seems that TLR is the root cause of a lot of strife in the org.

2) @southsider2k5 looks like our theory about the new organizational attitude towards Latinos might hold weight if you read what Olney and Rogers are thinly implying.

Sure doesn't do anything to fight it.
