Comparing the billionaire owner and real estate magnate to a minimum wage employee of a corporate mega company is completely hilarious and delusional.  The latter is there because they likely can’t afford to put dinner on the table every night, the former is an ultra wealthy fan treating professional franchises like a hobby while continuously trying to extort taxpayers for his own personal and professional benefit.

If you get off on elder abuse, that's on you. I'm gonna pass.

This take doesn't make sense.  Either you are fit to run a billion dollar operation or you aren't.  If he isn't physically/mentally able to give a press conference, retire.

I honestly don’t understand why you are clearly more mad at this site for deciding that this and the last couple seasons results are unacceptable, than you are mad at Reinsdorf for being the puppet master of it all.

I still like baseball and this is a baseball site, so I frequent the board. I also don't let sports get me emotional. There's already 10 posters saying the exact same thing every single day. We don't need 11. Jerry's a terrible owner. No s%*#.

If you claiming that the head of a billion dollar operation giving a press conference is "elder abuse" is you not being emotional, I would HATE to see you get emotional.

I don't get emotional about sports like you losers. I get emotional about the tone on sports message boards.

Yep, I also like how he is one of the ten posters that he referenced telling all other Sox fans on this board how they should feel.

Watching Lindor and Steve Cohen celebrating together…it’s almost hilarious the Mets ever since the offseason went out of their way to say it was a retooling year while the White Sox didn’t even have the luxury of wasting a season.

Then for poor Guardians fans…you just never ever get to see a fair fight because of the economics of the sport, Jose Ramirez and Lindor vs. the world.

I can't imagine being a guardians fan seeing a white sox fan pity them

Nah you aren’t even saying that you are reading the same thing over and over, you are telling everyone that being mad at JR is dumb and there is no ROI on this sport for anyone.  If you don’t like the content on the site during the worst season in the history of the game, I don’t know what to tell you man.  It all sucks but hey keep being mad at the board 👍

Bro carries so much water, he’s gotta look like a flying squirrel.  I wonder if his traps legit connect his earlobes to his shoulders. He can probably do the wing suit flying without the wing suit.  5 gallons of water weighs 41.7 lbs.  Carrying that around all day, every day?  I bet his forearms are completely ripped too.  Bros gotta have the grip strength of a silverback gorilla.

Being a sports fan is irrational and shouldn't be examined the way consumer brand loyalty is examined. There's no inherent ROI in being a sports fan. Sports fans are 45 year old men that pay $12 for a beer while wearing a $300 jersey with another man's name on the back, as if they're LARP'ing. It's an 8 year old kid balling over a loss that has literally no impact on their real life and whose outcome is completely beyond their control. Sports are stupid. As such, any expectation of a return is stupid.

Nothing Getz says actually matters. The only thing that matters is what he does moving forward. The odds are against him, but I wish him the best. I just don't get the vitriol towards him. It's not like he's doing this on purpose. As I always say, sports are dumb, and the mean spiritedness heading his way is ridiculous.

Everyone knows the entire franchise is pure trash. Repeating it ad nauseam changes nothing. Protesting changes nothing. This can either be a website that is an echo chamber of "no s%*#, we suck" or the website it used to be - full of highly knowledgeable fans who understand the situation, talk about the nuances of the sport and makes s%*# loads of great, sarcastic jokes. I miss the days of this board having tons of hilarious posters that were Sox fans but always had a charm. I remember when fans of other teams used to follow this board because it was dry, sarcastic and hilarious. Maybe a lot of the posters have moved on. Maybe we're just all too old to be funny. Man, I miss the old Soxtalk though.

Unprofessional? It's baseball. It's not serious. They're making light of a shitty situation. I'm sure it made the 28 people who actually read Sox Twitter laugh.

The Sox are obviously a bad organization, but I'm still going to trust the judgement of a medical staff more than a group of 6 terminally online Soxtalk posters who aren't bored by posting the shame s%*# over and over everyday.

On one hand Sox fans think their players are lazy and only care about image (Moncada, Eloy, Robert), and then it's the manager's fault for being too hard on them. I think there's a certain part of the fan base who just masturbates to anything negative because they think it makes them edgy.

After a quick search, "rip moncada" has never been typed once in this site's history. I'm not sure if the search function actually works well enough to keep checking though.

Yeah, people just saying the same thing over and over gets super annoying. Totally agree.

Banned.

Good job rallying all to the Cubs this year…though.

Jose Abreu probably has a big wad of chew in right now, somewhere in the world.

The Sox Board long ago ceded all decision making to their Chairman without oversight. While the Sox Board were sleeping, Jerry was prolonging a dysfunctional relationship with Ken Williams and Rick Hahn who, near the end of their tenures, were almost begging to be fired. And by the way, what was/were the precipitating cause(es) of their dismissal without notice? Possibly a recording of a little chit chat they had amongst themselves mocking Jerry?  You don't get  shown the door by Jerry unless they showed some real contempt or possibly were caught in some impropriety.

Anyway, those two hangers on played the Reinsdorfs and the Sox Board, bleeding the organization for every dime they could get out of them....money that the team now could better use to hire more competent trustworthy management.

I welcomed their dismissal but hoped JR would have taken the time to hire a dynamic GM, someone who possessed some of the qualities of a Dave Dumbrowski or Theo Epstein ....a GM committed to do what it would take, including making bold trades and FA signings to turn this team around. Instead they hire a young man who reminds me of another .. well never mind. This young GM warns that rebuilding will take a long time so you know, he has some self created job security during that prolonged process.

And Getz suggests that there will not be any major FA signings as the Sox continue to "develop" players - most of whom will never become mlb players let alone difference makers.

This entire organization needs to be blown up from top to bottom. Whether that gets done with a major reorganization and retirement of JR or a sale to a Mark Cuban type, I would have some hope for the Sox moving forward.  "The Letter"? Not enough, not nearly enough.

What Tray said and then some. For so long this organization had been on auto pilot, and it floundered. It used to be that the team had some talent even when it didn't go to playoffs. It reached the point where the club had next to nothing.

The 2010s was the first decade since the Seventies when the Sox didn't go to the post season at least once. And back in the Seventies, there were no such things as wild cards. A team had to win their division, and had to be a solid team, not some 80-win anybody. Finally, in the Seventies, the ownership had no money and were lucky to put a team on the field.

Getz apologists say he is trying to rebuild the organization's infrastructure. Maybe he is. But there's no excuse for putting a minor league team on the field.

I don't expect the Sox to go to the post season any year soon. But they should at least put a credible team on the field. How about 75 wins?

The organization has sunk to new depths. Empty promises won't win anyone over. Schriffen certainly won't win anyone over with his totally unbelievable BS. Stone Poney can take a hike, too.

“Second baseman Lenyn Sosa, who homered and drove in three Sunday, had the second-highest batting average among AL qualifiers in September. Rookie right-handed starter Jonathan Cannon, who picked up Sunday’s victory, proved himself as a steady rotation piece. Rookie third baseman Bryan Ramos, who also became a U.S. citizen in ‘24, had two hits and two RBIs, as a few examples.”

Dear Sox Fans,

Here is my 2025 plan for the future of the Chicago White Sox.

Chris Getz drives Jerry to Spring Training with Scriff in the back seat taking route 66.  By the time they hit Tulsa Oklahoma jerry can't take it anymore and gets out of the car. Reinsdorf sells the team on the spot and Uber's back to Chicago.

How does JR know about Uber?
