That's the whole point of having a productive farm system. Only the Sox. Other organizations probably not and that would also depend on the rest of the lineup. Obviously they built around a generational talent in Bobby Witt Junior but one guy is not responsible for turning things around so dramatically. That helps. Sometimes there is luck in drafting. Then there's Getz who would be looking to trade him for a vargas haul I guess this is where the Sox failed in the wannabee Royals model. Lose 100 games - cut payroll. Interesting that in the Fall League I've seen most people wearing Royals gear at their stadium. As for Sox gear at Camelback - not too hard to guess. chitownsportsfan
Sign nobody and tank for #1 would be my plan. If you tender vaughn it's simply as trade bait and to fill a roster spot with a 0-1 WAR type that will be a tank commander.

So an exact repeat of last year?

Getting 1,1 immediately injects like 10 projected WAR into our system, at min. That's exactly what we need. It's hard for even 'tard clubs to screw that up.

Brien Taylor? Josh Hamilton until he got straightened out... Edited Tuesday at 10:48 PM by caulfield12

The worst team can wind up with the 6th pick, and the worst 3 qualifying teams have the same odds.

I still don't understand why people think MLB is like the NBA or NFL. It's a big difference when division 1 is your farm system where in baseball you are taking chances on kids that are in high school as well and on the whole planet. Much closer to NBA though...especially in terms of internationalization and high schoolers to the pros (almost never directly in MLB fwiw.)
