According to MLB’s statement: “The comprehensive investigation included interviews of more than 15 individuals, in addition to Mr. Clevinger and the complainant, as well as a review of available documents, such as thousands of electronic communication records.“

So your position is the evidence of the testimony of one individual outweighs the testimony of more than 15 others along with thousands of documents? Seems like one elephant in the room is substantially more massive than the other here

Without knowledge of what was in those files, yes that’s entirely possible. Many domestic abuse victims try to live normal lives as much as they can, especially if a kid was involved and all the money comes from the abuser. Clevinger getting 15 of his friends to testify that he’s a great guy is probably easy when he has an $8 million salary.

The abusers best friend or other knowledgeable person coming forward to talk to investigators and subjecting themselves personally to harassment from people like Getz and his big fans is a much bigger ask, and commonly these cases don’t move forwards because additional people don’t want harassment themselves.

We even saw how Oscar Colas started following and liking every photo on the victims instagram page in early 2023, so yes that’s entirely possible.

Why are we talking about Mike Clevinger in a Robert trade thread? At the very least, shouldn’t this be in the “Fire Chris Getz” thread?

Getz has done so much bad that one thread alone can’t contain all of his badness.

Yes, if a victim shows pictures of bruises taken and submitted with a police report and describes an attack under oath as evidence of an assault complaint that would actually end up costing her money, that testimony would probably outweigh a text from Clevinger to his buddy saying, "Dude, that b**** is lying".

I don't know what's so hard to understand; MLB did not set out to determine "guilt". They set out to determine if Clevinger crossed the threshold for discipline.

If you own a business, and when you come into work one morning, the secretary has been stabbed to death, and your top salesman is holding a knife dripping with blood, you wouldn't conduct an investigation to determine if he's guilty of murder. That's what the police do. You might conduct some due diligence to figure out if he committed a fireable offense.

That's what MLB did. It can be true that Mike Clevinger is prone to violent outbursts that target his children and their mothers AND that Clevinger didn't trigger an MLB suspension.

I can understand they were stuck with him last year but bringing him back is where the issues lies and shows Getz isn't very good at his job.

It's the crapshoot all small market habitual losing teams do by signing with the hopes of moving them at the trade deadline. The reality is teams with good farm systems don't fall for that unless you consider a Vargas as a food prospect.

So now Getz is harassing potential witnesses, resulting in only Clevinger’s friends being interviewed? And the thousands of documents just consist of texts with Clevinger’s bros? Come on, now

Then why don't you tell us about all this compelling "evidence" against the accuser that surfaced during the MLB investigation?

Why would I need to provide evidence against the accuser to support my argument that the evidence of thousands of documents along with testimony of fifteen others outweighs the testimony of a single individual? Makes no sense

Will you soy boys get back on topic.  No one gives a rat's ass what you think of Clevinger.  I believe the Sox should keep Robert and bring in someone to fix him.

I've been thinking about this. The Sox 100 percent are gonna trade Robert and Crochet. The way this organization works with the tank always in play, it makes too much sense for Getz to avoid stockpiling six top prospects (we'll see how top they turn out to be) for the pair of them. Robert will seem more appealing in the winter offseason than he seemed while totally overmatched at the plate during 2024. Somebody indeed with give up three "top" prospects for him. Crochet it goes without saying will bring 3 or 4 prospects. So we'll see how tank No. 2 goes. Those six or seven prospects will allegedly be huge in determining the future of this moribund organization.

Ideally, they keep him until the trade deadline and he tears it up, rather than selling him this offseason while his value is so low.

LOL! That fix seems to be playing for another organization.  They need to dive deep into why.  Players do have bad seasons. Sometimes we believe in small sample sizes.   See Montgomery is a bust crowd.
