caulfield12
Seems that former Sox starting pitchers are doing about as poorly as those relievers are mostly thriving in the post season. Edited October 27 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Judge with an awful WS so far. Yamamoto signing paying dividends these last three starts since the opener against SD. First Treinen earned run surrendered since August. Edited October 27 by caulfield12

caulfield12
Five ex Sox pitchers in the game...good for them. Kopech struggling a bit recently. Postseason ERA up to 3.38 now. 4-2 Dodgers win, 3-0 series lead....Yankees still haven't recovered from G1 disaster. I see the same old Kopech that can get away by being on a much better team. He has control issues. The last 2 weeks the manager might have 70% confidence as him being a closer. If he wants to be a starter for the Dodgers he has to cut down on balls.

That was it after the shocking walk off. Freeman MVP. As I pointed out in the KC series, Yankees can't hit. They can work the count and strike out, though. He's a decent reliever but basically just another guy in terms of a bullpen piece. Good at times. A HR machine other times. Probably worth about 10 mill a year. Blake Treinen has kind of settled in as their main guy, though...although sometimes he has been deployed in high leverage before the 9th/10th. bmags
Old man thing to yell about, but clearly freeman was hurting bad in the NLCS. In the WS? He's looked fine. Nightengale cannot stop writing that he's on one leg, but pretty rare to get triples when you are hopping to third. For example, kirk gibson - clearly limping his entire home run trot. Swings with all power on one leg. Freddie freeman - normal swing, runs normally. This doesn't take anything away from freeman, he's clearly the MVP and is delivering a world series on a team that has mookie betts and ohtani. You don't really need to add drama on top of that. Baseball is not that predictable. It's more about timing. Wrong time for Judge to slump. The list of great players failing in the post season is lengthy. The Dodgers have such a great approach at the plate.

Reinsdorf would snicker saying he's not gonna sign him while expecting to be treated serious asking IL for over a billion dollars.
