Paulie4Pres Posted yesterday at 01:13 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:13 AM Freeman has a home run in six straight World Series games? That's honestly just insane.
caulfield12 Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 01:43 AM (edited) Never would have believed Tim Hill would be doubling up Freddie Freeman in the second most important bat in the WS back in April... Or not. Edited yesterday at 01:44 AM by caulfield12
Balta1701 Posted yesterday at 02:59 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:59 AM How big does the Yankee lead need to be for you to pull Weaver to save his arm a bit for tomorrow?
caulfield12 Posted yesterday at 02:59 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 02:59 AM Keep forgetting Brent Honeywell was briefly White Sox property... +11 ERA with the White Sox 4.05 w/ the Padres in the same season 2.70 ERA w/ the Pirates this season, 2.62 with the Dodgers, including 1 SAVE in 2 opportunities, and a 1.11 WHIP. Tampa Bay ended up taking Honeywell in the second round in 2014 and he was on the taxi squad for the World Series in 2020. This postseason has been a different story because if it wasn't for his performance in Game 5 of the NLCS, the Dodgers might not have won Game 6. https://dodgersnation.com/brent-honeywell-brings-style-swagger-and-unfiltered-honesty-to-dodgers-world-series-run/2024/10/29/ https://pittsburghbaseballnow.com/brent-honeywell-jr-world-series-dfa-pittsburgh-pirates/
caulfield12 Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM (edited) Honeywell officially jinxed...haha. 11-4 Yankees, we'll get Halloween Eve baseball now. Edited yesterday at 03:12 AM by caulfield12
Balta1701 Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Share Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Dodgers bullpen is better rested despite it being a bullpen game. Flaherty vs Cole for tomorrow, Yankees need a big full game from Cole and for the offense to show up again.
Dick Allen
Didn’t the Yankees pass on Flaherty at the deadline? If he wins tonight, that should be a fireable offense. Edited 18 hours ago by Dick Allen

Balta1701
Well, the Dodgers are going to have work to do to win it tonight.
Balta1701
Welp, game is tied and inning would have been over with no runs had Cole covered first on a grounder.
caulfield12
5 runs on just four hits...all unearned. Flaherty continues to lower his FA payout by the game. Edited 16 hours ago by caulfield12

caulfield12
Kahnle goes down as one of the primary causes of the loss, along with Cole. Treinen and Buehler the heroes. No Freeman homer but he probably wins MVP...or Betts. Edited 14 hours ago by caulfield12
greg775
And that is why you don't fire Dave Roberts after the disappointments. It's why you don't listen to the noise if you are a good GM/owner. Boone probably will get fired even though that roster was by no means dynastic.
greg775
30 minutes ago, Quin said: Buehler gonna try and pull a Buehrle. Now that is an excellent post. That's worthy of mention during the broadcast but I doubt the announcers went there. In fact I know they didn't as I watched it.

caulfield12
The Dodgers’ biggest bullpen dilemmas start in the ninth inning. The team could continue to share that responsibility, or it could look to Michael Kopech, who thrived after arriving from the White Sox at the trade deadline. Alternatively, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and general manager Brandon Gomes could provide stability by adding an experienced closer. https://sports.yahoo.com/los-angeles-dodgers-2024-offseason-preview-will-shohei-ohtani-and-co-be-even-better-in-2025-035328294.html Blake Treinen, Daniel Hudson and Walker Buehler are free agents. greg775
Dodgers have a gem in Kopech. They should keep him. In Chicago he was a home run machine but with a good organization he proved his value. Start him as a setup guy, close him once in a while. Or make him a starter. He should thrive in LA again next year IMO. Bullpens are so fragile. The Yankees' last two pitchers tonight, though overworked in the postseason, ran out of gas and both stunk. I guess Luke wasn't that bad considering he inherited bases loaded no outs in the eighth. But he had nothing left in the ninth.
