Compare that to someone like Whitesox2023 whose posts consist of "Lol Getz Sucks!" or "Coulda had Keaschall!" Dude could be replaced with a bot or a soundboard and no one could tell the difference.

Be careful, I hear if you say the "K-word" three times that summons him

The hope I have is that Getz is bringing what appear to be talented people here to help rectify the awful position player development record the Sox have. They may be better off going for a large quantity of lower level promise instead of top 100 guys on the cusp, especially because those top 100 guys just aren't available it seems, unless they're in free fall like Vargas. Hopefully the Sox learn from that mistake.

It's what we all have to hope for.  Essentially we  have to hope that the replacement for himself that Getz hired/s is light years better at development than he was.

I guess we'll find out how much of that was Getz's incompetence, and how much was Hahn's. Hopefully it was more of the latter than the former - I'm encouraged by the hires Getz has made, and he seems to be getting buy-in from some good people. This is still the White Sox, though.

True and JR is still the owner, the ultimate wild card.

On the surface, this doesn't make sense: Trading a great talent with little guarantee the team will get a good value in return. There is nothing like a rebuild. How did that last one go?

The WSox could have a decent rotation with current staff including Crochet, Canon, Thorpe et. al.. Add possible future starters Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith and that rotation (and the entire team) takes another step toward competing with the best teams. Yes, WSox need some hitters/position players so add them through FA ...but don't rob from Peter to pay Paul so to speak. Spend some damn money on FA instead of trying to go on the cheap by trying to outsmart other teams with trades and "developing" prospects while we watch another painful rebuild. Fvk that.

I think the rotation can still be good but they are definitely going to rob from Peter [Crochet] to pay Paul [position player prospects].  But Schultz, Smith, Thorpe, Taylor, Cannon, and others can still be a solid rotation.

But unless Getz knocks the Crochet trade out of the park, some young guys step up, and the Sox nail their drafts going forward, I still don’t see where they are going to come up with the lineup.  Jerry isn’t going to spend in free agency.

Isn't the "itch on your left side" a euphemism for "Michael A. Taylor could be signed really cheap and flipped for a haul"?

I never said Taylor could be flipped for a haul.  I said that I thought there were better fliers to take a chance on than some of the players Getz acquired last offseason.  I also wanted Getz to go after Joey Bart and Victor Robles during the season when they were made available via DFA, but he passed.

However, I do remember when @greg775, yes @greg775, owned you last Spring Training.  See the screenshot evidence below.

Game, set, match, old chap…  😘

Thanks White Sox 2023. I feel so many times nobody credits me for credible posts and I was right there on that one. That's why I didn't buy mlb.com. Amazing how people won't give credit and you did. Thank u! The post you cited should put as the first member of the Soxtalk.com Posters Hall of Fame!

Go Bro Rice in the Prep Bowl playoffs if indeed they are in them.
