Having him and Vargas (also with five years of control if he works out) be two key pieces of a potential rebuilt lineup seems a bit shortsighted IMO. On the other hand accumulation of talent is not just for playoff teams. You need talent to get to 60, 70 ,80 wins too. The more talent you have the more you can do with it. Many are talking about a 10 year rebuild . If Getz has any kind of vision it might have more to do with being more like Tampa Bay and they are always trying to go from average to above average , playoff team by finding a balance between developing youth and trading it away at the right time and continuing to win.Depth of talent has to come 1st and that only happens once you fix scouting and player development domestically and internationally. Then your GM has to trust his talent evaluators in trades. I think most GMs scamble to gather info from their guys once a team shows interest in your players .A good infrastructure can provide that info efficiently and identify players of interest from all levels of any system.

If someone is going to make an aggressive move for him and give that type of return, it’s likely in the next 3 weeks. If not, then that’s telling you teams are waiting for Getz to drop his price. He can be a third piece if the Sox are throwing in some other garbage or something, but he can't be one of the 2 (I'm assuming) big "pieces" of this trade.

If he can stay healthy, it's up near Cole. People can say what they want, but the market states pretty clearly was Garrett Crochet is worth. Since when do trades work like that? Maybe if they had huge bloated contracts and were bad players. But Bohm and Lux are both worth their salaries so it’s not like they have negative trade value. Bohm is projected to receive $8.1 million via arbitration for 2025, which isn’t bad for a 3 WAR player last year. Lux is projected to receive $2.7 million for 2025 and he was a 2.1 WAR player last year. So they aren’t bad players, but what does Getz think 4 to 5 more wins is doing for this team in 2025 and 2026? And you would be losing Crochet and/or Robert’s WAR/production, which could be a net loss. Either guy included in a Crochet or Robert trade isn’t going to increase the prospect returns. It will decrease them. Edited 20 hours ago by WhiteSox2023

Crawford would be a fun replacement for Robert in CF, but replace Bohm with another big piece. Miller (Law thinks he will stick at SS) and Crawford would do it, but PHI won't include both. TheFutureIsNear
Getz has already pulled off 1 (bad) 3 team trade…Crawford + flipping Bohm to a 3rd team for another 2 good prospects sounds like a fairly ideal scenario. Just not sure what Bohm’s value is and what those 2 prospects would look like.
