Well, that's where we have to hope and pray that we have hired better scouting and player development than the last group.

Yep, I like the idea of younger guys over prospects nearing 23/24 but with a guy this young, performing well at a low level could be a bit fluky rather than having a couple seasons of performance to look at.  And then, he would have to further develop in the Sox farm system.  Yikes.  Would be a ballsy move by Getz to go that young on prospects IMO.

jesus if you are on a baseball message board enough that first word you'll assume is a typo for padres and then think there is a prospect named Parades (pronounced in a spanish-esque puh-rah-des") that you don't know. Took me a longtime to realize this is the red sox and that is about world series parades

I literally read it as Paredes like Isaac Paredes lol

Yeah it scares the s%*# out of me, but at some point you have to act like big boys who believe they are a 21st century baseball team complete with scouts and development.  If they believe Made is a guy, make the deal for him, and around him.

That is a really interesting update.  Maybe the Brewers can get into the conversation if they are willing to start with him and 2-3 of the rest of their top 5 while at the same time teams like the Red Sox and Orioles aren't willing to include their top guys.

It would have to be Made + Pratt plus at least one or two more solid prospects for a deal to work in my mind

Made looked stellar in 2024, but is still ages away from the MLB level and carries extreme risk in his profile for that reason. I’m not sure the White Sox are the type of organization to effectively develop a 17 year old position prospect to his full potential.

That would be fine.

We know Crawford is coming back. The question is will PHI also part with Miller or is Getz going to be satisfied with Caba as the other piece.

If he gets back Miller and Crawford it will be a job well done.

What is it about Miller that everyone loves? His numbers at A+ last season weren’t off the charts or anything.

His WRC+ at A+ was 128 which is good for a 20 year old and Law said he should stick at SS which is also a big deal because we're gonna need someone who can actually stick at SS.

Mayer did the same at a younger age and is supposed to be the better defender at SS from what I’ve read. Wouldn’t you prefer Mayer over Miller?

Crawford is a super risky prospect. High swing rate, rarely walks, tons of groundballs, not a slam dunk to stick in center. I would not be happy if he is the main return for Crochet.

He was proposed as the secondary piece after Miller.

It doesn’t mean everything but I’ll take it over not having it.

Fernando Tatis and Jr.

Of course there are success stories. The Griffey's, Fielder's, Molina bros. It just doesn't happen with the Sox lol.

It depends on the whole package involved from BOS and PHI.

Yes Mayer is ofcourse better than Miller but he has injury issues etc.

Crawford is a better 2nd piece than Montgomery.
