2 of those guys are years away.  1 was awful last year.  The other 2 weren't good enough to merit a September call up.

Take it up with the MLB evaluators.  I haven't seen any of them play so obviously I don't have first hand knowledge.

I actually can't tell which of these is which.

Personally, I'd say let Quero up to start the year, I see no problem with that. I would put Schultz on something like the setup that Skenes threw last year, conserve his arm in AAA for a month or two then let him in the big leagues.

Smith, I dunno, maybe next year a debut late in the season? See what he does? He's thrown 70, 70, and 90 innings in recent years, so pushing his arm up into the low to mid 100s isn't unreasonable.

Weak draft class but it’s a bit mind boggling that Madrigal was pretty much a consensus top 5 pick (it’s not like the Sox reached) given his limitations.  Everything would have had to go really right for him to live up to that draft slot.

Well sadly...it did not go right.

I believe you can build for the future while entertaining in the present.  Minor league teams mostly draw fans with no stars to draw the customers.  This team can bring up two or more of their top-tier prospects.  They can sign some affordable over-the-hill additions like Veeck did with the 1977 team.   It's not me I'm worried about.  It's the kids who will find something else to keep them busy.  No fans...no game eventually.

Bringing up Quero and Montgomery to start the season...is that enough to make them watchable again?

Maybe...?

Then they have the Schultz and Smith debuts in the next calendar year, but that's about it unless they luck out with the 1-1 pick in 2026.

Yankees and Mets top position prospects were just horrendous last year

Agreed.  If the Yankees aren’t dealing Dominguez, screw ‘em.  And there’s no position prospect very enticing in the Mets farm system.  They mostly had garbage years like you said.  Let these two teams force a bidding war and possibly up the ante for other teams with better prospects.

found this tidbit interesting from the article

Well, there’s a somewhat encouraging sign of growth from our scouting department.

Dominguez is expected to be the starting CFer, with Judge moving over to right to protect his health.
