Not a comma either Jim.

Not only does he not have a character limit (blue checkmark), he's well under the old character limit.

It reeks of "Bowden just spewing his brain garbage," cause the only way this tweet doesn't work out for him is if Sasaki goes to the White Sox.

I mean, we know that he's spoken to the Sox.

It could have been a "thank you for the presentation, but I'll pass." But they still talked.

The only team I think was confirmed to get iced out was Philly?

MLB.com article said 20 teams made presentations, which we know the Sox submitted one.

I feel like it's probably Seattle.

Mystery team involved in Sasaki sweepstakes.

Jan. 7: Mystery team involved in Sasaki sweepstakes?
The Sasaki sweepstakes are entering the home stretch, with eight days to go before the start of the 2025 international amateur signing period on Jan. 15 and 16 days remaining before the right-hander’s posting window is due to close on Jan. 23.

We last heard from Sasaki’s camp on Dec. 30, when agent Joel Wolfe told reporters that the coveted pitcher had returned home to Japan to mull over his decision after meeting with teams in Los Angeles.

To this point, Sasaki has met with seven known clubs: the Mets, Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Giants, Rangers and Padres. However, those might not be the only teams Sasaki is considering.

Wolfe said that 20 teams submitted presentations when Sasaki was posted by his NPB team, the Chiba Lotte Marines, on Dec. 9, and MLB Network insider Jon Paul Morosi reported Tuesday that at least one other club beyond the aforementioned seven has spoken with the hurler.

While it's unknown which other team (or teams) was granted the opportunity to speak with Sasaki, the Mariners, Red Sox, Phillies and Blue Jays were all previously mentioned among the likely contenders to sign him.

You could read it this way.

Teams that are still in on Roki Sasaki : Dodgers, Padres, Cubs, Yankees , Mets. Rangers maybe. Giants not.  The White Sox , others, could be added to list.

I didn't change a single word. Just added punctuation. Sox still in it ! 👍

The Mariners have the natural/historical connections and the Blue Jays went balls to the wall to go after Ohtani (almost getting him on a plane to Toronto)...so you'd have to think he would actually have MET with a team (at least once) before ever considering putting his signature to a contract.

My post was a joke. Took that whole Bowden tweet that came without punctuation and added punctuation to make it look like the Sox were still in it.

I actually don't care where Sasaki goes if it's not the Sox.

Seriously - what could have a presentation by this team currently owned by Jerry Reinsdorf with his reputation have hoped to accomplish?

This is yet another example of why this franchise is in so desperate need of a change in ownership after four and a half horrific decades of abject failure.  We are a major market team that isn’t taken seriously in situations like this.

If the White Sox were where we hoped they would be, and where they told us they would be right now, there would probably be a decent chance this guy would be interested. But why, when he could go wherever he wanted for basically the same money, would he choose a team who just set the record for losses in a season, and don't seem to have a roster that can't flirt with breaking that record?

The same with Kim. Why would he sign with the White Sox unless they are willing to pay him significantly more, which we know they are not, than other teams who at least try to win?

For those following...Roki Sasaki is expected to announce his decision on the 20th, and not closer to the 15th of January, the first day he would be eligible for the new signing period.

January 23rd is the FINAL deadline for everything to be completed, fwiw.

Teams can't trade for INTL $ until the 15th either, so id guess that the team that signs him will probably be making moves to get more $ once they can.

Would part of a trade be something like, the White Sox send $500k of international space, they get player X, and the receiving team also points 2 unsigned prospects to the White Sox?

This part.  I can't see how the 2nd would work if the Sox are sending their spare dollars they would use to sign kids.
