I agree. Also of note to the people screaming for the Sox to sign dudes in the last weeks of December with what's left in their allotment, all the known guys are signed. It's like we want them to scour the beaches for young guys throwing rocks in the water, and if somebody looks like a pitcher, give him $100k.

Expand

No they WANTED the money already spent 11 months before that, so it wouldn’t go to waste at the end of the period.

Giving those rock skippers $10K each would have turned out more useful sidearming relievers than all their Paddy moves post Robert.

A guy like Keller walks into a job, and he can't go back in time and shake a 13 year old's hand 3 years ago.

Good thing the guy who was supposed to line up the signings for the 2024 period is gone.

I am sure your first grade class loved that one.

They did. And I showed them this string. They were profoundly surprised by the irony of nobody criticizing Cleveland having $2M unspent, and using it to move Myles Straw's contract, instead of taking a gamble on any player. It's very cute when 6-year-olds ask you if all of the negative Nellies (as they called them) were burner accounts for people in the Guardians' front office. They also voted overwhelmingly that you're "a stinky butt". Kids.

You act like this isn’t a common theme of the White Sox.  They usually trade their cash away for garbage.

The return on saving $10-15 million to reallocate across the big league payroll is traditionally better than blowing $2 million on lottery tickets.

Player to be named later too for CLE...probably conditional on securing Sasaki.

baseball is pointless to watch now, and it's even more pointless if you're a Sox fan

I'm hoping that Sox attendance drops significantly next year to the point that it damages the brand for at least a decade. they all deserve worse.

The Sox aren’t Cleveland even though we all wish they could be as good.  The Sox are a fucking dung heap compared to how well the Guardians run their team.  You already knew this though.

I’ve never seen so much apologizing for every stupid, cheap, and lazy move the Sox make.  It’s quite impressive.

Can't even use the contraction threat like commissioner dropped on the Twins in 2001-02 because they still won't get any public stadium funding sympathy.

I will give you one thing, your classmates could learn a lot from your water carrying work ethic.  Maybe they too could spend days defending the undefendable.

They're all quite driven. Most of them want to become scientists when they grow up so they can find a cure for whatever makes "old stinky butt" so illogical and angry.

All these baseball people and players "buying in" to Chris Getz' vision. Why not Sasaki?

Expand

I had to bring back this epic post.

What baseball people and players?  Players that Getz fished out of a dumpster and managed to sign for peanuts?

Why not Sasaki?  Because he isn’t fucking stupid.
