So do I, but rewarding mediocrity for the sake of a lack of options is a really bad precedent to set for a supposed "revamp" of the system. Let the kid prove he belongs. Agreed. If this happens, it will be for all the wrong reasons — a strong showing in the AFL and upcoming Spring Training. He should have to start in AAA and prove that 2024 was just a down year. But like you said, a lack of options and probably some cheapness on Jerry’s part means this could actually happen.
