Actually you literally are.

You see those straws? Try to grasp them. I'm not the one who invented a trade with literally no evidence. I'm the cynic, calling you guys out for all your bullshit and your invented narratives. There's literally no evidence that Benintendi is tied to a Crochet trade. There are Perez Hilton level rumors invented that fit your guy's narratives. Those narratives have been constructed by two posters who found the time to post more than 6,000 times in a single year-our worst year ever. That's just really fuckin weird, incel-like behavior.

Eh, I give him props for saying he will no longer support the Sox if Getz is stupid enough to include Benintendi in any trade that will absolutely neuter the return.

But yes, I see what you did with your response to his last sentence.  🤣

And incel #1/6000 posts in a year guy responds in less than a minute, at almost 2:00 am Chicago time.

And you responded to my response 4 minutes later, fellow “incel”.  I know you have said in the past that you’re the CEO of your own business, but I would venture to guess that you are full of sh1t.  I’ll post my LinkedIn if you do the same and we can let SoxTalk decide who is full of sh1t.

The funny thing is that only @Harold's Leg Lift has been pushing the idea of including Benintendi in trades of Robert and Crochet for salary relief.  The majority on this board don’t want to make those trades because they know it will neuter the prospect return.

Anyways, I’m actually surprised you aren’t accusing me of being racist as well, as that is your usual game.

What do you say?

“Benintendi has three years and $50-ish million left on his deal, making him a tough contract to move at the age of 30. If the Sox are interested in recouping good prospects for him, they should be willing to take on a majority of his money. If it's just about getting rid of the money, the Sox likely won't have many takers or won't be able to attract a top return.“

And as expected, @TaylorStSox slinks back into the shadows (a.k.a. his parents’ basement).  No surprise there…

The only thing scarier than @Harold's Leg Lift’s trade rumors is @TaylorStSox drinking a couple beers at night and accusing every other Sox fan of being racist and a bad Sox fan.  🤣

🤢 🤮

Massey would be a better acquisition than Lux based on the years of control alone — 4 years with Massey versus only 2 years with Lux.  Massey is also the better defender at 2B.

Lux with 2 years left before free agency makes acquiring him make absolutely no sense for this team.  But I guess Getz is going to continue to Getz…

The Dodgers must be willing to take on Robert’s entire contract so cheapskate Jerry can save some money while selling low on Robert and destroying the return for him.

his entire contract? his remaining years are all optional for the team, they could just refuse to pick them up going forward.  this isn't a benintendi situation

Crazy to see the most of that core being DFA’d (Madrigal), options getting declined (Moncada, Eloy), or just already out of baseball (TA) like 4 years later.

Robert could be another down/injury plagued season away from joining them.

But the good news is thanks to KW including 2027 and 2028 options on their contract for Machado they have plenty of money to sign them.

I thought to myself you could sub me for Taylor St. Sox and it would still work. Except it'd have to be 5 beers.

lol. They're not attaching Benintendi to a Crochet trade.

I've consistently said they wouldn't do it too. I'm just saying if they don't really care about paying Vaughn $6M then they better not try to then attach Benintendi to Crochet or Robert.

Others seem to think it's a real possibility because of rumors they tried to do it before.

Trying to draw a correlation that if the are willing to pay Vaughn they should be willing to keep Benintendi out of a pure misery move like attaching him to Robert or Crochet for those who think it's a real possibility.

If a sports writer actually "reported" a push to move Benny, even in a Crochet trade, I'd call that smoke. That doesn't seem like something somebody would make up, like so many trade rumors.

However, it does feel like Getz thought there'd be more desperate interest in acquiring Crochet at the deadline, and could have floated multiple ideas, none of which came to fruition.

That doesn't say to me that "Getz is definitely trying to package Benny with Crochet", but that doesn't make it clear he wasn't.

I tend to see admins flogging the package rumor as them trying to whip up comments.

So at the moment, our Opening Day lineup could look something like this:

  1. Vargas, 3B
  2. Baldwin, SS#
  3. Robert, CF
  4. Vaughn, 1B
  5. Benintendi, LF*
  6. Sosa, 2B
  7. DeLoach, DH*
  8. Lee, C
  9. Fletcher, RF*

Quero, Montgomery, & Ramos are all likely to come up at some point, with a non-zero chance of winning roles coming out of spring training.  And obviously a Crochet trade could another player or two into the immediate mix.  While the offense will almost certainly suck next year, at least it’s mostly young guys that you can dream on a bit even if most of them are admittedly long-shots.

Minus Robert and maybe Benintendi (if he continues his strong finish to last season), it literally could be a AAA lineup.

Like I said, it’s going to be a bad lineup.  But at least the bulk of guys are young and controllable, which to me, is more fun than watching a lineup with Pham, Maldonado, Lopez, & DeJong.

Yeah. I'd rather watch a season of young guys and hope to see some growth instead of doing what they did last year and hope older guys peform so you can trade them.

Madrigal > Vargas

Madrigal is a  better fielder, better hitter, and has more energy,  = more time on DL, but I'd still take him over Vargas

I’ll fold on both and raise you an Andrew Vaughn.  😉

The only way I see Benny moving before October 2027 is if he continues his strong 2024 2nd half into 2026, and even then, only if the White Sox eat some of the remaining money.
