The only way I see Benny moving before October 2027 is if he continues his strong 2024 2nd half into 2026, and even then, only if the White Sox eat some of the remaining money.

Agreed, but he at least showed it may be possible with his stellar second half.

And as expected, @TaylorStSox slinks back into the shadows (a.k.a. his parents’ basement).  No surprise there…

The only thing scarier than @Harold's Leg Lift’s trade rumors is @TaylorStSox drinking a couple beers at night and accusing every other Sox fan of being racist and a bad Sox fan.  🤣

Some people call it "going to sleep."

And you responded to my response 4 minutes later, fellow “incel”.  I know you have said in the past that you’re the CEO of your own business, but I would venture to guess that you are full of sh1t.  I’ll post my LinkedIn if you do the same and we can let SoxTalk decide who is full of sh1t.

The funny thing is that only @Harold's Leg Lift has been pushing the idea of including Benintendi in trades of Robert and Crochet for salary relief.  The majority on this board don’t want to make those trades because they know it will neuter the prospect return.

Anyways, I’m actually surprised you aren’t accusing me of being racist as well, as that is your usual game.

What do you say?

Post your LinkedIn, bro. Wtf? 😆I didn't think the incel post would hit home like that. Sorry man. I run a paper route. It's about to take off. I feel it.

Sorry. What’s “incel?”

I feel like it’s something I am expected to know, but I feel like asking the question here would be more entertaining than Googling it.

When’s he’s not yelling at any poster who questions the talent of a Sox prospect, he accuses posters of being racist and calls them “incels”.  He also likes to make fun of people for posting too much on a message board, yet here he is posting as well.  It’s been his gimmick for some time now.

…but what does it mean?

If a sports writer actually "reported" a push to move Benny, even in a Crochet trade, I'd call that smoke. That doesn't seem like something somebody would make up, like so many trade rumors.

However, it does feel like Getz thought there'd be more desperate interest in acquiring Crochet at the deadline, and could have floated multiple ideas, none of which came to fruition.

That doesn't say to me that "Getz is definitely trying to package Benny with Crochet", but that doesn't make it clear he wasn't.

I tend to see admins flogging the package rumor as them trying to whip up comments.

I am not sure if it is worse that you would believe this, or that you would be playing right into our greedy hands.

Not sure how accurate this is but maybe it will help?

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/chicago-white-sox/payroll/_/year/2025

$66,990,000 ?

SoxMachine was saying just shy of $60M, but they may have been missing some retained / dead salary.  I would anticipate a final payroll in the $75M to $80M range, so perhaps we still add a veteran bat and reliever later on in the offseason.  But outside of a Crochet trade and some smaller moves, I think the bulk of the roster is in place.

Good God. If that is the case, and Montgomery and Quero start the year in the minors, this team could lose 130 games.
