If not... oh well. He'll take the Moncada route out of here. Been saying for awhile this is the most likely outcome if they don’t trade him this winter.

The number of games Luis Robert has played in each of the last 4 seasons. Odds are he misses a good chunk of time in 2025. His aggressiveness is a bigger problem when teams aren’t going to pitch to him because there are no other threats in the lineup. Having a real bat (or two) beyond him would make a big difference IMO. I keep thinking a lot of these articles are written, not by AI, but by a foreign language AI. I sometimes run my own writing through ChatGPI. I'll get into arguments, late night, after a bottle of wine, with it. Asking for rhyming words for a particular word, I finally got ChatGPI to admit it doesn't really understand the concept of rhyming.

There's no way in HELL that the Pirates are going to trade Jones for Robert...they believe his value is closer to Crochet's. And they're certainly not going to add another "bigger" salary while getting rid of the much cheaper and younger centerpiece of their rotation. For Davis+ without Jones being involved at all, sure. We love to take on the baggage of former first round draft picks that fail elsewhere...and then try to "fix" them, usually failing somewhere along the way. But especially when there's a dramatic position shift like catcher or 1B/3B to OF. That's our specialty, right?
