bighurt574
I can’t see how we get offered anything that would warrant pulling the trigger now. The best move is really just to roll the dice and hope he gets off to a decent start.

Chicago White Sox
Quote from Ken Rosenthal Quote The Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox are among the other teams interested in Crochet, but the Mets and Yankees were the most aggressive suitors as of Monday, according to two sources briefed on the White Sox’s discussions. No deal with any club was considered close. The Mets, after beating out the Yankees for Soto, also would appear to have the edge for Crochet, based on the young talent they could offer. The White Sox ideally want major-league-ready hitters. And though shortstop Colson Montgomery is their top position prospect, people familiar with the Sox’s farm system say the team still needs better players at up-the-middle positions such as shortstop, second base and center field. Some of the Mets’ top prospects, such as Jett Williams and Luisangel Acuña, profile as up-the-middle players. The Mets also have Brett Baty, a former top prospect, who is blocked at third base by Mark Vientos. After getting demoted to Triple A last season, Baty increased his versatility by playing second base.

Monty, but there's murmurs about Mayer staying healthy. Caissie is a savage, no? I like the quantity from the Mets over Crawford's lack of power. Chicago White Sox
Mark Feinsand update: Quote While Crochet is among the most popular trade targets in the league, the White Sox have received significant interest in Luis Robert Jr., who has one year and $15 million remaining on his contract, plus $20 million club options for both the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Robert had his breakout season in 2023, hitting 38 home runs with 80 RBIs, 20 stolen bases and an .857 OPS in 145 games. He took a step backward in 2024, hitting 14 home runs with 35 RBIs, 23 steals and a .657 OPS in 100 games, but despite Robert’s struggles last season, a source said Chicago only plans to move the outfielder if they believe they’re getting full market value for him.

CWSpalehoseCWS
Jesse Rogers just said on ESPN 1000 that the Reds made an offer for Robert that would be considered the "B" variety, but the Sox want an "A" prospect in return.

IMO Getz wants Arroyo from CIN. He is hellbent on adding a legit up the middle talent (SS or CF) because C. Montgomery probably won't stick and Robert will need to be replaced.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that is Getz’s target, as well as expecting Montgomery to eventually be at 3B. Sadly, I doubt Jacob Gonzalez is our SS of the future.
