Look, if you really want to showcase the game’s superstars more, another way to do it is to just eliminate those boring, good-for-nothing non superstars.

Anyone that has an OPS under 700 falls through a trap door into a snake pit the next time they take the field.

Baseball is evolving, folks. Get on the bus or get run over. (Oh yeah, there will also be a bus driving around on the field during play.)

There have been plenty of big at bats that have been decided by lesser known names forever. It’s been a great part of baseball being different than any other game.
This is just a dumb idea that is only going to put star offensive players in a position to fail more often.

since we have decided that we aren't going to be playing real baseball with the ghost runner rule, let's just say f*** it and go home run derby for extra innings.

• Use of your Golden Batter is a replacement for your first Manfred Man. So if you use your Golden Batter to tie the game in the 9th, you lose your Manfred Man for the 10th inning.
• Use of your Golden Batter is only allowed if you have not previously used your replay challenge.
• Use of the Golden Batter requires that the Golden Batter's team's broadcast must be replaced by John Schriffen for the remainder of that half-inning, and the two additional half-innings.
• The Golden Batter must be selected by a committee of recent Sox Math winners. Also, all teams must have an equivalent contest to Sox Math.
• Use of the Golden Batter negates any fielder positioning requirements, so extreme shifting is once again permitted for that plate appearance.
• The next time the Golden Batter's turn in the order comes up, the opposing team may choose the batter for them.

I say give it a try. I know some people want the game to stay the same forever, but I enjoy the changes. It's the DH on steroids. The same DH that was going to destroy baseball according to the NL fans. 

Actually, I would love to see baseball adopt an offensive and defensive lineup like football. There isn't any reason that players should be required to play both sides of the ball like basketball or hockey. Play stops. To really make that work rosters should be expanded and that will never happen.

So you're giving your best player(s) an extra 100+ high leverage AB's over the course of the year?  That will just inflate superstar contracts even more, I'd think, which wouldn't be good for the franchise who has never given out a $100M contract...

Let's get back to real baseball. 😆 Underhanded pitching, batters could request a high or low pitch, return to first team to score 21 runs wins no matter how many or how few innings are played, only day games. Toss in some double-headers.
