WestEddy
I said Jonathan Cannon, at one point, but yeah, why not deal from strength in a crazy pitching market? The #WhiteSox have started receiving genuine trade interest in RHP Davis Martin. With inflated free agent pitching cost, small and midmarket teams are beginning to look at the trade market to improve their rotations. — Bartolo's Colonoscopy (@lakeview487) December 21, 2024

WhiteSox2023
I’m all for trading Martin. He’s not old but he’ll be turning 28 next month. But you would have to get decent value for him. If he’s a decent back end starter he has value. He isn’t a free agent until 2031. So it might be better to wait for him to put up a good full season next year before moving him. I’d also rather keep the much younger Cannon and see if he breaks out.

Timmy U
Sox can’t even win most aggrieved fans. ESPN did a ranking and placed them 3rd, ahead of the Angels and Mariners cuz “things can turn around in a hurry”? Why the Mariners and Angels? God only knows. What about A’s fans? Angels fans have never seen Mike Trout in the playoffs and just saw Ohtani win it the year after he left. Angels fans probably should be more miserable than us.

Not sure about the Mariners. Mariners went 20 years without a playoff appearance, while the Angels won a ring in that same span. M's ownership is cheap AF and continually makes cost cutting moves that make the team worse. Angels ownership at least spends money. They spend in the dumbest way possible, but they spend. Angel's fans at least got to watch two of the best players on the planet play every day while their FO tried to spend their way to winning. There are much worse positions to be in as a fan base. A's fans just had their team ripped away from them, and Sox fans suffered through the worst season in modern baseball history. Both of those trump never winning with Trout and Ohtani IMO.
