Baron
3 minutes ago, PaleAleSox said: And maybe (?) Orioles...? Ah no. Two teams that love their prospects and banking on them to get desperate is a little foolhardy. Corbin Burnes is still out there too.
nrockway
I like this better than re-signing Soto for the Yankees. Pretty reasonable rate of pay, all things considered. They have two top 100 prospects ready to play in the outfield, pitching seemed like the thing to address. Also obviously good for the Crochet trade market. Probably the best place he could've landed, time for Baltimore or Boston to pony up

Orioles will never ante up and the Mets offensive prospects look mediocre. The more offers the merrier though. Feel like the second half of his career will be more up and down like Wacha. I guess Walker might have been referring to a D backs 1B now...but they have Uncle Ben's Rice! When someone puts sign Walker...you realize there are actually players out there with similar names, it's not like the guy is so iconic more than 5-10% of hardcore baseball fans would even be able to identify him. He was on my fantasy team recently, had a massive season and still at 730 am reading the thread while bleary-eyed the Dodgers' pitcher came to mind initially. I think @Bob Sacamano was suggesting that the Yankees sign 1B Christian Walker, not Walker Buehler.
caulfield12
Yes, got it. Maybe the Yanks strike back with Alonso. Polar Bear Pete and not Friends and Family or F-1 Alonso. Edited December 10 by caulfield12

Walker Buehler already has an iconic last name, albeit spelled differently. May as well use his last name…
