What’s the deal with this dude?  Other than a smaller stature, does he have a weak glove or something?

One would think he would be ranked even higher in the Red Sox farm system with the numbers he has put up.

Development, development, development.

I will not get excited about any "prospect haul" ever again as long as Reinsdorf and the people he puts in charge run this team.    We had a top 10 prospect in Montgomery at this time last year, he flamed out bad in AAA.     Now we're suppose to expect to take both Teel and Braden (from a well ran organization) and finish up their development portion?

Sorry, not excited.

Yeah im cautiously optimistic. This organization just tells their prospects to 'go get em'.

So Sox system now has 6 T100 guys? With a deep return like this one let’s see if Getz can flip Robert for 1 more. I realize 3 of the current 6 are likely to graduate in 2025 but the #10 pick in July plus a top 3 pick in 2026 should replenish the system nicely. Finally starting to see the early stages of the next young core.

C/1b - Teel and Quero

2b - Meidroth / Baldwin

SS - Montgomery

3b - Ramos / Vargas

OF - Montgomery / Wolkow

P - Schultz / Smith / Thorpe / Cannon / Iriarte

It’s a start…Now flip Robert for Justin Crawford and we call it an offseason. Then grab Summerhill in the 2025 draft and Emerson in the 2026 draft.

No, the Sox turned him into a starter and created his value. Crochet hadn't started in 6 years.

Of course Crochet pleaded with them to start. Kudos to Getz for being open to it.  And he may have done it anyway, without Crochet’s prodding.
And we know that Hahnber wasn’t going for it.
anyway, this looks like a good deal. And it has some depth to it, which I like.

I don't know whose defense is viewed higher, but obviously one of Teel/Quero will move to 1st at some point.

That’s the only part I dislike.  A plus bat at C doesn’t make a plus bat at 1B and right now we’ll forcing one of those guys to 1B a bunch if they both pan out.

Ah yes a LHP in his prime traded to the Red Sox for lottery tickets. What can possibly go wrong? 😂 Best of luck to Crochet. Like Sale, I love Reinsdorf lead organization trading away HOF projected talents because we can't either afford them or build around them to win.

Boston loves trading for tall lefties that throw weird, don't they?

Pretty good return. This is the kind of value we should have gotten for Cease.

Well we know Hagan Smith and Noah Schultz's future then.  Oh I see you are about to make some money that isnt going to work out for Jerry, well let me change the color of your sox.

Maybe hope Teel is like Realmuto and he's athletic enough to play OF?

I posted Baseball America's scouting report on page 2.

But this is a Sox fan’s Christmas for trading away aces.  We get at least one day to assume the entire prospect return will turn into above average major leaguers.  Don’t ruin the fun!!!

Ultimately, strong catchers are so hard to come by it's hard to complain about getting multiple prospects. If they both pan out, Sox will manage.

Oh f*** yes if true…Getz is the GOAT again

Teel and Montgomery is a good return, IMO.

That's 2 Top 100 bats and Teel should be a longtime above avg LH catcher that will not just stick but be pretty good at that spot and  can probably hit at the league average which is very good for a C.

Montgomery will be a very good RF with a cannon arm and a savage LH bat as a switch hitter with very good power from the left side in particular.

Good job Getz...you gotta give him his due.
