Balta1701
Apparently now that this is a thing, people looked at the videos and there’s some combination of people freaking out about planes, helicopters, and occasionally, Venus.

greg775
What is wrong with our country? Why is there not outrage and people demanding the government tell us what the bleep is going on? Left, right, whatever ... politics is to the point we aren't briefed on what the hell is going on in our skies? Uh, some people fly reguarly and deserve to know if their plane is gonna get blasted by some sort of weapon!! What's going on with these drones Mr. President?? I read that two air force bases were shut down today cause of drones. Do a google on drones and air force bases. There's something weird going on when one president currently office is saying nothing about this and the next guy is ready willing and able to attack all the drones. And right now we go with Biden's silence since he's in charge and in a month we go with Trump blasting the bleep out of all drones. I'm gonna be so mad if our grid goes down at some point! We pay a lot of money in our lives in taxes and the government's No. 1 duty is to protect us. So people should demand such protection and not play politics on EVERYTHING. https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/16/us/us-air-force-base-closes-airspace-drone-sightings-hnk/index.html Edited Tuesday at 06:56 AM by greg775

Some people think they as taxpayers and good citizens deserve answers when the country is up in arms about drones. You've got one future president saying it's a big deal; another basically saying nothing. You've got enemies all over the world. Is it too much to ask for daily updates on drones? You've got one future president saying it's a big deal; another basically saying nothing. You've got enemies all over the world. Is it too much to ask for daily updates on drones? Cause you're demonstrating bad media literacy and didn't read the statement by the FBI, Defense Dept., FAA and Homeland Security Quote There are more than one million drones lawfully registered with the FAA in the United States and there are thousands of commercial, hobbyist and law enforcement drones lawfully in the sky on any given day. With the technology landscape evolving, we expect that number to increase over time. FBI has received tips of more than 5,000 reported drone sightings in the last few weeks with approximately 100 leads generated, and the federal government is supporting state and local officials in investigating these reports. Consistent with each of our unique missions and authorities, we are quickly working to prioritize and follow these leads. We have sent advanced detection technology to the region. And we have sent trained visual observers. Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned citizens, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones. We have not identified anything anomalous and do not assess the activity to date to present a national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace in New Jersey or other states in the northeast. That said, we recognize the concern among many communities. We continue to support state and local authorities with advanced detection technology and support of law enforcement. We urge Congress to enact counter-UAS legislation when it reconvenes that would extend and expand existing counter-drone authorities to identify and mitigate any threat that may emerge. Additionally, there have been a limited number of visual sightings of drones over military facilities in New Jersey and elsewhere, including within restricted air space. Such sightings near or over DoD installations are not new. DoD takes unauthorized access over its airspace seriously and coordinates closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities, as appropriate. Local commanders are actively engaged to ensure there are appropriate detection and mitigation measures in place.

Cool. It just seems wrong to not have daily briefings from the government telling us what they know or at least responding to questions from the media. I don't know this for a fact but I suspect you and I have different feelings about government and its role and whether or not the current government is doing a good job. Not sure why you 'seem' to be OK with the radio silence on this. If you use social media you've seen the drones dominating the X platform night after night. This isn't greg doing some overreacting. I don't see why secrecy or silence is the way to go on this. My bad if I have made incorrect assumptions about your position on politics/government/relaying of drone information. I just sense a vibe of u, me and Kyle differing on what we expect from government officials. Edited Wednesday at 12:09 AM by greg775

There was a long statement from government that Kyle posted that frankly didn't tell me much. Perhaps my comprehension level isn't as great as others. I saw a clip of Trump's press conference yesterday in which he said he wasn't sure why the government wasnt coming clean. The guy who takes over in a month says the government knows exactly what's going on. Strange. Maybe they could throw out some hints like a.) rest easy, your health is not at risk, 100 percent not at risk. or b.) you might want to be alert to these drones. if you see one best to stay inside and call your local law enforcement. Or something on a daily basis rating the concern level green, yellow or red. Edited Wednesday at 05:54 AM by greg775

No one I would not expect a press conference outlining exactly what security measures military bases were applying in a time of emergency. That information is quite literally classified. As to your safety, as was already pointed out, it was addressed, you are just to scared to read apparently. Probably should work on that duck and cover again.
