Some of you guys are obsessed with blaming anybody for your misery. You possess the keys to your own happiness.

The payroll numbers are looking insane.   I knew the cuts would be drastic, but seriously, he needs to sell the team.  There is no doubt he’s pulling a Rachel Phelps.

I recently talked to someone close to the situation and this person is very confident the White Sox will have a new downtown stadium.  Take that for what's it's worth.

He specifically said that he didn’t like this move because these are the type of guys who sometimes grow two inches. You asked which player he was talking about.

30 year olds rarely grow upwards by two inches. Sometimes they grow outwards by that much.

He said his fastball could grow two inches, not his height…part of the reason I wasn’t sure what he was talking about.

I’ll be honest fathom, I wasn’t buying what you were selling on the payroll, but so far the dumpster diving is 100% in the bargain bin.  I expected at least one signing for $5M to $7M for the bullpen, but so far that looks unlikely.

And if most of Berroa, Varland, Booser, Steven Wilson, Leasure, Anderson, Marinaccio, Murfee all sh*t the bed and end up being DFAed, then yeah, I would start to look askance at Katz.

It’s pretty crazy.  Getz is slashing payroll to Athletics numbers from last year.

I'd rather he work his scouting department and come up with guys ready to go when pitchers and catcher report than last year's experiment. I'm actually liking the Bryce Wilson, Booser, Lipcius and Cal Mitchell pickups. (Big surprise, I know).

I like the Wilson signing.  Seems like he should’ve gotten paid $3 million from someone.  Lipcius has some good minor league numbers.  Not a fan of trading anything of value for a guy like Booser, but if he is eventually flipped for a better prospect, so be it.  Initially, I thought the Sox would spend a little money and that a Quintana signing would be probably.  But it doesn’t seem that way now.  The highlight of the offseason will probably be a Ben Rice trade but hopefully they don’t pay too much for him.

If JR is willing to at least pay a fair share, they may but I doubt it given the political climate and Gov. Pritzker isn't going anywhere.

They only way this happens is if JR calls a press conference and says he's paying for all of it (and you know that's not happening...)

I hate this trade, but here’s the logic: Boston faces a roster crunch. They’re gonna have to DFA this guy, so they ask around for trade proposals. They Sox like the guy enough that Boston knows he ain’t getting past waivers, so they take less than he’s worth so they don’t let him go for nothing. They reports are good on Fajardo, but DSL pitcher is not a huge price, so the Sox were willing to pay it. Maybe Boston bluffed them and they had no other offers, but whatever.

This is what will happen. Boston's pair of 37 yr old LH relief pitchers Chapman and Justin Wilson will both break down before the deadline and they will trade for Booser back and  give up Fajardo and another guy .

JR doesn’t need to pay all of it, almost no politicians have said that. What they’ve said almost entirely is that it has to be a good deal for the taxpayers.

JR will have to come up with something, my guess has been a little more than half, and the politicians would play ball and say they got a good deal.

Until that happens, my guess remains either team is sold to someone who will pay a reasonable amount or they move to Nashville.

10 years of hearing excuses for Rick Hahn man. We have a lot of experience with inexplicable sycophancy.

Then I would think that after 10 years, you might be able to see the difference between an excuse and just talking about the difference in approach from year to year.

Yeah, you guys making excuses after a 121 loss season need to work harder. We had one guy who made at least one, maybe multiple fake Twitter insider personalities just to say what a great job Hahn was doing. Thats effort!

121 losses doesn't affect my life. I'm interested in what next year's team is going to look like.

Well, there you go.

The PTAC response about baseball for the pure enjoyment of the sport, and not the emotional attachment and correlated high's and low's of winning losing.

But for die hard White Sox fans, those that give up season tickets, don't renew the Sox tv package/MLB.com, don't give Sox-related gifts at Christmas, don't have the next generation of kids growing up as Sox fans, it will definitely affect the fate of the franchise...unless they can find an owner willing to invest $2 billion plus another $500 million to $1 billion into a new stadium development in Chicago.
