Are they actually allowing this by policy?  I assume you get assigned some crappy seats for each game.  It only takes a toolbox security guard or ticket checker to ruin your comment, even if the stadium is empty as it is expected to be.

They don't check for that, especially early on.

If I were still living up there I would be at the point that they would have to pay me to attend a game. The whole scenario of 27 games for 125 bucks is actually embarrassing as they are just about giving away the product, has any other MLB team done something like this?  This is the most depressed I’ve been since I became a Sox fan in 1952.

No need to be depressed.  You have to be able to laugh at things, especially things that don’t really matter- like sports.

They never checked last year and upper deck folks were allowed downstairs. You can essentially sit wherever you want

I think the Twins were selling the rest of their GA tickets this past season for $5. So it’s kind of in line with your thinking.  Keep in mind, they were in playoff position until mid August and won a playoff series over the NYY the previous season.

“But I would think if people got in for free, they probably wouldn’t buy anything else. I could be wrong, though… or at least not enough to offset costs. So having some type of monetary value to the ticket will help ensure those willing to pay money get in, so they will be more likely to buy extra stuff once inside. If that makes sense.

Edit: not all tickets are $5, but a select number are. Not sure the amount. I feel it’s their way to attract more people without making it free. I guess they have the same idea in mind: save money on tickets, spend more inside.”

“Twins jumped from second most affordable in 2023 to 18th most expensive in 2024”

Yes more expensive so not downplaying that, but the wording here is intentionally trying to spin it by changing the verbiage from “most affordable” to “most expensive”.

The 18th most expensive per SI is the 13th most affordable if we’re using the same verbiage. So the Twins dropped 11 spots from 2nd to 13th and SI’s trying to paint it worse. Not shocking given the pile of poo SI is these days.”

But the price jump coinciding with a drop in payroll is straight bs.

Someone noted the Pohlads (currently in the process of selling) are the fourth richest family ownership group in the majors and they’re finally getting out…

You’re right but the White Sox have been a big part of my life, the last 2 years have been horrible and this year will be horrible also, just can’t get myself to laugh about it. Depression is probably the wrong word, what is right is utter detest for Reinsdorf and what he has done to the franchise. I turn 79 on Wednesday and am in pretty good shape but who knows if I will be around to see the Sox as World Series contenders again, with Reinsdorf still running things I’m not holding my breath.

It used to be that they wouldn’t check if the expected attendance was low. I haven’t had an upper deck ticket in ages so I wouldn’t know about now.

A code whose name is derived from Jon Garland lol?

Priceless.

Also, might not want to trade Luis Robert now with all those enquiries coming in on the hotline...Oops it's already ovah.

Workers weren't willing to answer non-ringing phones for more than 2 hours at a time?

The organization announced plans to reduce season-ticket prices for the 2025 campaign by an average of 10%. It’s too early to know the full impact of that decision, but Boyer said, “The fan reaction was certainly a tip of the cap. We have all the data. We know what the people are selling their tickets for on the secondary market. That decision was an easy one when you realize what our fans have been through.”

Some pretty uncharacteristically blunt statements from Boyer...

Aside from opening day I’d be shocked if you couldn’t sit just about anywhere you want.  Maybe they check if you try to get too close but then just move somewhere else.
