The 121 loss White Sox cannot look to the 119 loss Tigers and think they can quickly climb out of the cellar because the owner refuses to operate in any what that would allow that to happen.

When will the Sox become a respectable team? When the club gets serious about acquiring real major league talent. I am not buying into this so-called rebuild. Been through it before. Even if there is success, it doesn't last long. Expand I don’t think anyone is buying into it except WestEddy

GreenSox
On the subject of this thread, I kind of like this signing. Gallo has a discernable skill: he can hit homers. If he's got 20-25 in July, a team will pay the Sox for that.

Plug him into the 5th spot in a platoon role, and see if he can find his home run stroke for half a season.

Expand I actually think Gallo could hit that many homers if given the at bats. In his last 4 seasons, Gallo has averaged a homer every 15 at bats. In his most recent 3 seasons, Gallo has averaged a homer every 17 at bats. If you give Gallo a full season of at bats (around 500 or so) and he stays healthy, he could probably hit around 30 homers. Of course, the problem is that it will also come with a batting average below the Maldonado Line and a sub-.700 OPS, which ultimately makes his value next to nothing. Not much has made sense when it comes to Getz’s roster decisions the past couple offseasons. Edited February 19 by WhiteSox2023
