Sure this will happen a lot, but anything that happens after the 5th inning of any early spring training game can usually be taken with a grain of salt.

Is Eder's fastball always that bad? I thought he threw hard.

His stuff was WAY down last year

Eder was throwing 94 against the Royals on 2/23. Sitting 93 against the Guardians 2/27.

And velocity isn’t everything, but he has terrible command.  He has all the makings of a bust.

Definitely looking like a bust right now.  I’ve pretty much lost all optimism unless he gets moved to the pen and the stuff miraculously comes back.  It’s funny that Hahn actually did some of his best work those last few months of selling and KW makes one bad trade that highlights everything wrong with the org during that era.

Something something about Enzo Hernandez, Tito Fuentes, Bill Almon, Kahlil Greene and Tim Lollar. Oh yeah, Sixto Lezcano and Luis Salazar, too. Alan Wiggins.

You mean EnZo Ferrari?

Good list of ex Padres...or Latin singers.

Dead ex Padres?  Some that played for the White Sox too...

Jacob Gonzalez bust potential quite high now too.

K city for Sox in recent innings.

Eder was at least on prospect lists after the draft.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a college player get drafted and universally have his stock tank like Gonzalez did.

Zero tool player.  Average across the board.  Zero carrying tools.

Not even a poor man's Adam Frazier or India.  Not even close.

On Burger: Hated giving up the one fun player to watch hit and a high quality person too.

Are we seriously debating whether guys are busts based on spring training results? This is insane, guys.

Gonzalez has been questioned since draft day.

What is his path to the big leagues exactly?

Injuries and attrition?

Eder will continue to get opportunities since he's left handed and throws 93-96.

I’m with you, but it’s hard to be optimistic about Eder right now.  And I’m not a guy who typically overreacts to early season velocity or temporary drops, but him throwing 92 MPH is incredibly concerning given his challenges last year.
