Heads22
I have learned things today. Thank you. Can't go to the 15 since there's no 26 man roster, can't go to the 60 unless you're replacing them on the 40 man

They can't just put a guy on the 60-day and be at 39 players. Expand I thought the whole idea of the 60 day IL/DL (when did they change the name and why, did Gatorade have a hand in this) was to take the guy off the 40man roster without burning an option or accruing service time. The team takes a risk that the player is healthy before 60 days, but that’s clearly not the case with Tommy John. Seemed to me like a very team-friendly thing. I guess it’s practically the same thing, you don’t want an injured player taking up a spot when someone else could do it, and why stay at 39. I might be mistaken on the rule, but my thinking is this injury doesn’t affect Berroa’s standing with the team, it just puts it on pause for a year. Probably not ideal for him, but I’d like to see what he’s got.

Expand That is false. An option is used when a player is demoted from the major league roster.
