Why not ? It doesn't happen very often and it may have been their best game of the Spring.

Sox had 11 hits and hit for the cycle Korey Lee provided the double and triple while Vargas had the HR.

With the HR and a single Vargas looking cromulent hitting .294 with .839 OPS.

Lee continued his good spring. Robert had a single and walk and Sosa also had hit.

3-7 with RISP.

Shane Smith pitched 3 innings 0 runs, 1 hit, 0 walks, 5 K.

Grant Taylor bookended a nice performance all around by Sox pitchers by pitching 2 innings getting all 6 outs via the K , 1 walk ,0 hits .

All together Sox pitchers struck out 16 Dodgers. Shane Smith K'd Ohtani twice.

Things can go sideways real fast, but this was a fun one to dream on. Vargas and Sosa becoming regular contributors would be a huge step for the whole team.

By the end of the season, the rotation could be fierce.

Key year for Taylor. It'll be his shot to show he can pitch at least 5 innings and pile up some innings and stay healthy.

Something usually goes wrong but they could have a great 1-2-3 punch at the top of the rotation in a couple of years.

For sure but the game thread was a nice respite from the usual everything sucks stuff . We can dream on a new owner and great pitchers and some actual ML hitters .

Why can’t you enjoy anything on your own?  Does it personally hurt you that a large majority of Sox fans logically think that the team sucks?  Your mention dreaming.  What is a dream?  Something that doesn’t usually come to fruition…

We're a community here. I don't understand.Do you want me to enjoy the victory in silence or just not want me to shut up about those who keep reminding us that everything sucks while you make snarky comments about other members of the community. I also don't understand why being positive about some things bothers you so much. It's my favorite team . It's more like a child to me who has its highs and lows as we all do. But that child will always know I love it because I won't put him down all the time . Positive reinforcement. I am not alone on this board about feeling this way despite you wanting me to enjoy it on my own.

I'm not hurt that the large majority thinks the Sox are bad. They are bad,  but ,again, like many that's not our focus.

If your purpose is to tell me dreams don't come true very often I think it's very reasonable to expect the team will gradually get to a .500 record from good pitching and below average hitting. That's only a dream because it's not happening yet, but it will. So continue to try to crush dreams and kick puppies if you must because it's your duty or you feel compelled . I see things very clearly and I profess ignorance for what I can't see or don't know.

The Sox might have the best rotation in baseball (at least best stuff) one day with Schultz Smith Taylor Sh.Smith and  ???.

Might.

And eventually the ability to supplement that young core with hitting and perhaps a closer from Ishbia bucks.

And theoretically a new stadium in the next 5-7 years.

That's a lot to be excited about.  At least ompared to a few months ago.

And two high/er draft picks the next two years...in all likelihood three years.

Another 3-22 start in March/April though...would set the tenor for the season.   Ofc, it depends on the changes in fundamentals/defense, etc., that we see under Venable...at least from the young/er players.

That means Sosa/Vargas/Baldwin should prove they belong...and, as of now, it remains to be seen whether Meidroth, Ramos and Colson will be in Charlotte or (one of them) with the big league club, and of course Teel/Quero/B.Montgomery.   And all the young pitchers, ofc.   Everything else is pretty much window dressing/distraction.

Other than that, we're just hoping for health/productivity out of Luis Robert so he can be jettisoned for the highest possible return.
