That's just not going to happen.

One would ride the bench unless the other was DH/1B and Korey Lee has been solid this spring.

Even Narvaez has done well today.

I realize it's not realistic but I'd at least consider it. Teel, Quero and Lee with them rotating through Catcher and DH. They've been very high on Teel this spring and he and Venable seemed to have forged a bond. It'd be much h for fun to watch for what it's worth.

SSS...

Need at least 20 at-bats, which is still ridiculously low.  Nothing more than a snapshot.

Teel has definitely impressed a lot of people this spring, though.  Making things tougher on Getz, but he SHOULD start at Charlotte regardless of what he does in ST and who takes notice of him (outside of the Sox organization).

Enjoy them having a couple of good games but spring training stats mean zip.

There are some exceptions.

Meidroth and Gallo, for example.  This spring is probably cementing Drury on the roster, and the lack of playing time might be pushing Baldwin onto the backburner and onto the Charlotte roster (obviously, having to go with Vargas and Sosa because of lack of options hurts him as well).  Montgomery's uncertain health is pushing him off the OD roster as well, unless he REALLY tears it up at the plate his last two weeks or so.

Shane Smith is currently emerging as a national baseball story due to Spring Training (and being located until Tuesday at the same site as the Dodgers for ST).

Yes, there's always Ryan Sweeney and Wilson Betemit counterexamples, too.

Small sample of good is better than small sample of  bad. Besides you and I could put SSS on nearly every post for the preseason.

But why do the bad ones mean so much then ?

Mid season form , Same old Sox .Why push back against winning and strong performances ?

I'm so glad we have such sage old souls here to warn us against irrational exuberance. I always thought that a 3-3 game in spring training meant a player would hit 1.000 in their 540 PAs during the season. Learn something new every day.

Wow can Teel end up being a monster, like a .900+ OPS guy?

Can he be what we all wanted Flowers to be?

Catchers rarely do that but you never know he could be our LF .He's a pretty good defensive catcher though.

I'm intrigued how it all works out with so many young guys.

To put a positive post out I like the situation with our young C and SP. There are some green shoots there. Problem is almost literally everything else but watching good young catching and SP is fun and maybe something we can hang our hat on as the season progresses.

But the pitching will be fun to watch, especially when the young catchers to come to the MLB.
