Soxnet

We'd like the new Sox site (When one eventually happens) to be everything SoxNet was, such as the News and commentaries and then stuff above and beyond that.

We'd like to get some historical type stuff up and all that good stuff. It will take some time, but first we have to cross the "legal" hurdle to make sure we can do it without being sued.

SoxNet will no longer exist.

Why?

TheInsiders is one of the reasons, but another is I personally wanted to move on. I loved SoxNet and will miss every aspect of it, but at the same time, I'm looking for a new challenge.

A new white sox site may be in the works shortly. I won't be running it as I did with SoxNet, but Jason will be and I have no doubt that he'll make it better than what SoxNet, just based on the experience and knowledge he gained.

I will help Jason as much as I can and help in whatever way I can, but all of my time will soon be dedicated to a new chicago sports newspaper and website that started this year. I hope to take the dedication and credibility I gained at SoxNet and invest it into a site I feel can be a strong source for chicago sports news in general.

Hope this answers your question.

If anyone has any questions, send me an email at [email protected]

Good luck with that Mario. I'd be interested to hear details and updates, personally.

thanks SS,

I'm sure I'm gonna be spamming this board a bit with the newspaper and site as I get involved and get things going, lol.

Mario,

I'd absolutely LOVE to assist you with the portion dedicated to the Chicago Blackhawks, as I follow the team more than any other team on this planet! I have experience writing game a few game reports at Blackhawkzone.com, as well as being a full-site moderator over at the Blackhawkzone.com message boards, so I feel I can be a good asset to your newspaper and website.

PM me with more information!

lol, you know I'm gonna have to plug it every chance I get.

if not, it'll take forever to build, like SoxNet.

Well, you know you SHOULD be plugging it on Sox And Roll's message boards!!!

Oh, wait...More people attend Montreal Expo games than visit those boards!!!

I think the name Soxnet is dead. Lets just say there was a contract disupute with the "Insiders".

To the best of my knowledge another site will pop-up soon.

Oh, Ian, you little tattletale!!

GOTTA be the first one with "the scoop", don'tcha???

:P

Well for those that weren't really familiar with SoxNet, it was the original. It came before Soxtalk and Soxtalk was created as the "Message Board for SoxNet". Now Soxtalk has evolved into a community of its own, but SoxNet was the sister site to this.

We liked the idea of seperating the name of the board from the name of the main site because it was kind of a way to cross market and such. I know a lot of people like going directly to a message board and with this we give people the option of straight to the board or straight to the main site and then all stories would also be posted here.

We'll probably do something similar when/if we can get something going again. Futuresox.com was the same way.

Yeah. Since I wasn't really involved that much with SoxNet....I really miss FutureSox.

Is the futuresox.com name safe? That was a BAD ASS site to say the very least.

Oh ya...that name won't be going anywhere. We plan on re-opening that as well. The thing is I have to make sure that were in the safe first, once that is done...then things will start to continue on like they used to be, and hopefully better.

I loved doing futuresox, it was so much fun.
