He tried to make them feel uncomfortable and then make them believe they could know more because of his gift of knowledge to them so they could know more than the people who run the teams or played. There is no doubt he was a good hire and made them money as controversy sells. Expand Bernstein had offers to be go national just like Greenberg did. He chose to stay as a local Chicago guy though. However, that was 20 years ago. Expand This is what killed the Bernstein and Goff show. I really enjoyed Bernstein back then, as that was right after the end of B&B. But Bernstein and Goff was terrible. It would always devolve into them ripping into a caller for being racist. The Score sucks now. Still living off the reputation of the glory days. Sports gambling is the only thing keeping it alive. North got phased out when the stations got bigger and they went from fans on the radio to real journalists as Bernstein would say. For as much of an intellectual he likes to tout that is, he flipped his s%*# and threatened the guy and his kids publicly over the man questioning if he followed “catch and release” rules with the fish he caught. Think Bernstein may have anger issues he needs to deal with? Also, imagine losing your job because you flipped your s%*# on a random guy questioning you about a fucking fish? Finally, do you think 5’7” Bernstein is saying anything he has tweeted to anyone’s face? Hell no. Expand I don’t think that was the main reason but it was definitely a side advantage of Bernstein saying something stupid and causing his own firing. The dude literally threatened a guy and his kids and didn’t even attempt to delete the tweets — probably because he was smart enough to know that they were screenshotted for evidence the second he made the tweets. To each of your points, I’m trying to remember when I heard politics. I seem to remember some of it in 2017 going through 2020. There was some heated conversations about Kaepernick, Covid and George Floyd I could remember. I don’t remember it being all of the time though.
