No Jankowski, no Meidroth, among others.

No Nick Maton.  No Steven Wilson.  No Tristan Gray.

Clevinger will probably be substituted for either Leasure or Eisert.

Thorpe will be on the DL, obviously.

Waiting for final updates on the Josh Rojas toe (hairline fracture) injury and OD.

One would guess that Br.Ramos will quickly be replaced by Josh Rojas when activated.

Bullpen is Justin Anderson, Booser, Eisert, Ellard, Gilbert, Leasure, Murfee, Vasil, Bryse Wilson for the moment.

Clevinger still listed here, for the moment.

Eder, Iriarte, Nastrini, Shuster, Varland, Owen White, Colson Montgomery, Colas, Fletcher are all on the 40 man.

Karinchak listed here, as well as Steven Wilson.  Omar Narvaez and Dalbec.  Cal Mitchell listed as an infielder instead of as an outfielder.

Maton listed as an outfielder.

Quero and Kyle Teel the main attractions, as well as Colson.

Jacob Gonzalez assigned here again.  Pretty weak infield.  Schultz and Wik.Gonzalez two of the starting pitchers.

DJ Gladney, Nishida, Tatum, Veras the main outfielders.

Hagen Smith the main star on this roster.

Grant Taylor

It feels like these bottom two rosters aren't updated at all....which will probably happen in the next 2-3 days in all likelihood.

Still trying to figure out what they're planning to do with Braden Montgomery.

It looks like Benintendi and Slater should be good to go after their injuries, so maybe just one of Jankowski/Taylor makes the team.  The middle infield is seemingly the most up in the air.  Amaya, Gray, Ramos, or Maton should make the team along with Vargas (3B), Vaughn (1B), and Sosa (2B/SS).  The catcher's spot is set.

My guess: Jankowski, Amaya, and Ramos (until Rojas returns)

If Ramos isn't going to play every day somewhere, he shouldn't. I get with the loss of Drury at the DH spot, there could be every day at bats there. It would also help them from having to make a 40-man move for Jankowski or Maton.

Here is what Roster Resource projects for them now. I would assume Benny is in LF, Ramos could DH, and Baldwin makes it over one of Maton/Jankowski.

This list has Jankowski with Tauchman on the IL. Subtract Eisert for Clevinger.

Gilbert and Anderson as last two in pen.

Subtract Leasure here.

Vasil and Bryse Wilson spot starters/swing men or long relief.

Obviously no Meidroth now.

That leaves Baldwin Amaya Ramos.

Rojas starting on IL or not?

Would go Baldwin over Amaya personally.

  • caulfield12 changed the title to For now, Amaya Baldwin Ramos are all on the OD roster

The assumption they had made was Meidroth making the team...

"The odd man out, for now, appears to be Bryan Ramos. Unfortunately, while he did have a fairly strong Spring, much like Colson Montgomery, he didn’t have a strong enough 2024 season in Charlotte that would qualify as “forcing the issue.” His .755 OPS sounds good on the surface, but in context, that translates to a 98 wRC+ in a hitter’s environment. So, there’s still work to be done. Plus, Ramos spent part of 2024 injured, so working through some consistent, healthy at-bats in Charlotte wouldn’t be a bad idea while the White Sox do some further evaluation at the major league level. If the team decides to move on from Lenyn Sosa, Ramos could make the Opening Day roster – but would likely have to do so as a second baseman."

He's also still presumably dealing with that elbow issue limiting his ability to play the field.  So he would DH with Sosa at second, Vargas third with Amaya/Baldwin at SS/utility.

Then Ramos goes down for Rojas...not sure it's worth burning an option there for 3-5 days...one week tops.

Classic. OD rosters dont have to be announced until Thursday morning, so the entire OP is moot.

So where am I wrong?...we know Tauchman and Rojas are likely to start on the IL.

We know the rotation and bullpen now.  And that Clevinger has made the team.

The only choices left are between Amaya Baldwin and Ramos.

One of those three will be left out.

Is this thread title actually based on reality or a random White Sox page that isn’t updated in real time?

It gets updated in real time and its accurate. The current active roster is guys in camp that have not been cut yet and there's another tab for NRIs that will be added to the active roster later. I have zero idea why it was shared on the site though, like we couldn't just find it ourselves or why it is relevant in the first place since its not the final 26.

Isn't the whole point of a message board to speculate...?

I heard all spring long how Meidroth was going to make the team based on last year's MiLB numbers and I disagreed vehemently and consistently based on the eye test.

I also argue for Smith on the starting rotation from his second start onwards.

Not that it was a difficult call over B.Wilson.

Finally Baldwin over Amaya.

We will see who is right and wrong.

Sorry, I just meant that 26 man roster is static during spring training and doesnt reflect any of the NRI’s likely to make it.
