Opening Day Angels/Sox 3/27...

A sincere wish that all Sox fans have a good season, something to be proud of again instead of constant embarrassment.

Miracles sometimes happen, the 1977 "South Side Hit Men" and the 1990 "Doin' The Little Things" White Sox come to mind.

I'd absolutely settle for a season like those two.

As far as the organization/franchise/front office/players?

I hope they are still playing meaningful games after Memorial Day.

You know, we might actually win this game. They have White Sox on their roster. Please let us know how many fans are really at the game. It can't be over 30,000 can it? Southsiders are not dumb. But the Sox might win this game and even the series. The Angels reek. p.s. I predict we are 10-30 after 40 games, but Sox might win the opener folks. I'd consider betting large on Chicago.

15. Angels at White Sox, 4:10 p.m.
Yusei Kikuchi vs. Sean Burke
Kikuchi was excellent after the Astros acquired him at last year’s Trade Deadline, but now the question is whether the version of Kikuchi we saw in those 10 starts is the real one going forward. As for Burke? Well, this will be his fifth career MLB game and fourth start, with the 2021 third-round pick having made his debut last September.

mlb.com ranked pitching match-up 15th out of 15 games...shocker

White Sox: Young players and top prospects need to develop
The team believes not only will it be improved at the Major League level from last season’s dismal and actually record-breaking 41-121 showing but will be competitive. Yet, in this latest version of their rebuild, the story really is how their young core develops. The White Sox have six of the Top 100 prospects, according to MLB Pipeline, and five of those six have a chance to reach the big leagues at some point this season. But it goes beyond the headliners, as the White Sox look to bring along more from their sixth-ranked Minor League system overall. -- Scott Merkin

SP matchup: Yusei Kikuchi (LAA) vs. Sean Burke (CWS) -- Kikuchi, who signed a three-year, $63 million deal with the Angels over the offseason, will make his first career Opening Day start.

Burke, who made his MLB debut last season and made four appearances, will be the first pitcher since the Dodgers' Fernando Valenzuela in 1981 to start on Opening Day with fewer than 20 career innings in the Majors.

See this new face: Along with Kikuchi, Jorge Soler also enters his first year with the Angels. Acquired from Atlanta during the offseason, the Angels are banking on Soler -- owner of 191 career home runs and a .464 slugging percentage -- providing power for a lineup that severely lacked thump in 2024.
Note to know: Both clubs are looking for their top stars to stay healthy. For the Angels, that’s Mike Trout (29 games played in 2024), while the White Sox are hoping for a full season from Luis Robert Jr. (100 games).      mlb.com

I hear you but this team won’t come anywhere close to the 1977 and 1990 teams, a depressing 50 wins seem about right.

Great video, I enjoy it every time I see it but unfortunately because JR has run this franchise into the ground there aren’t many in Chicago that are proud of the White Sox.

May the 2025 Chicago White Sox prove yet again that baseball is our national pastime, a sport in which on any given day any given thing can happen, and be the mark of a new era beginning…

Somehow, someway…

Even if that simply means Jerry sells. Even if that means we see two or three surprise success stories… even if that means we win 20 games.

f*** it. GO SOX!

I've never been more down on the Sox than I now.  But Opening Day is still great.  Sox are extremely likely to lose 115-125 games, but fuckina, we're allowed to have a tiny bit of hope today.  The Angels blow too, so let's start this season off on the right foot with a series win!

They will win 50+ games barring incredibly bad injury luck (which can happen)
