greasywheels121
What do you guys think of the new MLB policy that's going to be initiated next season? From what I see, it's almost pointless with the way they're going at it. It looks like you have to get caught so many times in a certain amount of time to get any kind of penalty. What do you guys think? Since I'm on the topic of steroids....check out this early picture of Jason Giambi LOLOL.....Have things changed, or have things changed? Chisoxfn
I think its pretty dumb. Roids are illegal and should be in baseball. Just make it where if you test positive your suspended for a short period of time...twice is half a season...3 times your out for the season or something like that. SuperSteve
Take the steroids. It's only your life. Not my problem when ya get f***ed up later in life. Everyone is looking for an edge now adays. I know many people who are not afraid of the health problems later on in life. I say let them. Either enforce it strictly and with reprocussions, or don't do it at all.
BrandoFan
Sox have nothing to worry about. Only Valentin and Olivo are on 'roids if that.
Chisoxfn
I'll always remember what Ken Camminiti, admitted user said. He said he took steroids so much the year he won the MVP that his testes/scrotum went back up into his stomach . :dips***

Giambi The penalities are weak, and if they caught 5-7%of players, I would be willing to bet that about 20% of players were on something in years past. I'll bet a bunch of players quit for the time being, and a bunch of others were on designer drugs such as THG that were unknown or undectable. Heck Caminitis 50% number wouldn't shock me anymore. Problem is, the owners don't have the complete say. The player's union is too strong for the owners to be able to implement their own program unilaterally. Chisoxfn
What's unilaterally? I ain't following. Sorry. Unilaterally would be the owners simply doing it. That wouldn't be legal cause the union would have to agree.

The player's union is too strong for the owners to be able to implement their own program unilaterally. And it shows that there's really no teeth in the penalties. Not kicked out until you test positive for the 5th time?!? Who is dumb enough to get caught 5 times? Players should be banned the second time they test positive. Capn12
Just a sham of a policy put in place by MLB operations to make it appear that they have control over MLBPA, which all us real fans know otherwise.
YASNY
The current steroid policy of MLB is a direct result of negations with the player's union in the last CBA. It does not go far enough, certainly. However, it is better than what was in place prior to the CBA. Which was nothing. As far as who is stupid enough to get caught five times, the first person that came to mind was a certain RF with the Cubs. But seriously, someone will be stupid enough to do that. You wait and see. Look at guys like Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Steve Howe, Dexter Manley, etc. It happens. People think they have they answers, that they are too smart to get caught, that they can get away with it, etc. again.
Pastime
I also remember Ken Caminiti saying that "at least 20% of major league ballplayers were taking steroids," and he was ripped incessantly for weeks. And yet the latest numbers came out recently and about 20% of major league ballplayers were on the "juice." Ken Caminiti the soothsayer!!
