It has always pretty much been those same top 8-12 teams that swim in the deep end of the pool. Contracts for an Arenado or Bryant don't change that. You still have this issue where St Louis is considered a small market...along with Oakland, but the White Sox are not, even though they're likely getting the lowest payouts from local RSN.
