southsider2k5
Schilling whines too much for me. He is one of the biggest proponants of the union in all of MLB. That is exactly what he is supposed to do, is to protect the people the union he represents. Like it or not he does a damned good job at it. Chisoxfn
I must be the only one, but I'd rather have Colon then Schilling. Schilling is done, imo and he's extremely old. I think Colon is a better investment then Schill. But I do think your right, the market for Colon should fall with that signing, don't know if it will though. Schill would get more then Bart on the open market. Who knows though...I really want Bart back.

Beacuse as a pitcher he knows that most pitchers get bigger strike zones from an umpire than a computer. Once again he is trying to protect pitchers. Don't get me wrong, I think the players union now adays represents everything that is wrong with baseball. No meaningful change can occur because they are too busy trying to get something else to reward them for something that should be common sense (such as drug testing)
YASNY
Good point, sir. I suspect a lot of our fans have no idea what the ticket prices are at Fenway. When you want their payroll, WS fans, pay the prices the BS fans pay and pack the park like they do. Until $ is put where the mouth is, it is all so much flatulence. Let JR put his money where his mouth is. Then I will too.
